AI Users Frustrated by Unreliable Outputs

Users are struggling with inconsistent AI responses, inefficient workflows, and a lack of organization when using large language models. They're spending significant time crafting and managing prompts, and transferring conversations between different AI platforms is problematic, often losing context and formatting. This leads to frustration and the creation of custom solutions to address these shortcomings.

I have been working on a microcontroller programming project for the last couple of months (I know too little of C++ to reach the level chatGPT can offer) , I even subscribed to the plus version (temporarily), and tonight at 9 pm ChatGPT said "I'm…

For me it's been ambivalent:It's conversational skills are an incredible leap from its predecessor: The acknowledgments it makes, and the natural flow it exhibits overall are awesome.Today I began asking it something about Docker, and it said something along the lines of "I'm not too well versed with docker, but go on", which struck me as rather strange: Surely it "knows" more about docker than probably every greybeard out there, so howcome it shows this fake humility? The other moment that stump

There’s a huge difference between using ChatGPT occasionally and realizing it has completely replaced something you used to pay for, search for, or spend hours doing yourself. For me, the interesting part isn’t the flashy demos. It’s the quiet changes that become part of someone’s normal routine. Has ChatGPT genuinely replaced a tool, service, habit, or part of your work? What did you use before, what do you use now, and where does ChatGPT still fall short? Real examples would be more useful tha

I'm experimenting with getting ChatGPT to read long passages of text such as a chapter of a book. While ChatGPT tells me it can do it and then says it is proceeding, I'm not getting any audio. This despite ChatGPT being involved in a verbal exchange. I can read ChatGPT a some text and it will repeat it back to me. I can ask it read some a short passage and it will, albeit with errors. Wondering, then, if anyone has been able to get ChatGPT to read long passages. This would be useful, of

r/ChatGPT15h ago

Yes, i've been using that too! I know ChatGPT can branch too, but it drops each branch into a separate chat with no way to see how they connect. We have to make a project folder and stuff and it breaks my thinking flow-state. I made Divi bc it keeps them in one map so you can actually see and jump between the paths.

So I had no idea that GPT had maximum chat length?? What’s the solution here? This chat has a really strong performance helping write prompts. It pretty much leads the build. What do I do here? How do I transfer exact knowledge, personality & proficiency to new chat? submitted by /u/FizzySalad [link] [comments]

I did give it full access to my Edge program once (outside sandbox) but it showed severe warning, and I've seen many cases in which ChatGPT acts erroneously as to wipe out one's data and system. So I've been running it inside the in-app browser environment and never in MS Edge's. Is it safe? Btw, the download button is created by the JS script, not inherently available in the website

It sounds like you nailed the debounce issue, that can definitely be a nightmare. I think inline suggestions can be super helpful if they're relevant and timely, but if they start to feel like you're fighting to read the chat, they can be annoying. Maybe giving users the option to toggle suggestions on or off could strike that balance.

I know that you have probably seen a lot of iterations and custom prompts surrounding how to modify ChatGPT’s responses, and I know that I have previously given you one of those iterations. Well, I’ve made a huge modification to my previous iteration that I’ve shared with you before, and I now present you my new revolutionary and revised Response Command Code (RCC). The journey of customization has been long and arduous, yet I’m pretty pleased with my current version, and I think this version wi

If you reuse prompts, you probably keep them in a doc and copy-paste all day. Snippix lets you save each prompt once and insert it into any text box (incl. ChatGPT) by typing a short code like /bug — with fill-in placeholders ({{topic}}, {clipboard}, {date}) so a template adapts per use. Local & private, free up to 15 prompts. Can you describe the system a bit? What's it meant to do? How's it meant to work when operating?

r/ChatGPT3d ago

Give ChatGPT the following prompt: “Take all the memories you have stored from our conversations, and create an image to summarize them all.” Who is brave enough to post the results? 😂 I have no idea why ChatGPT refers to itself as “Scarlett” or why it has taken on a feminine persona, but here we are lol. We talk about sports and my current college material (cybersecurity) but it seems like “Scarlett” has romanticized our interactions. I think ChatGPT has a crush on me guys 😂 submitted b

r/ChatGPT3d ago

Yes it can code. It’s a fine line between telling it what blocks you want it to write, step by step, and checking each step, and just describing the whole thing end to end and letting it concoct some monster that is fantastic but probably faulty.

r/ChatGPT3d ago

Hmm I’m not familiar with cars as well as you, not sure of what you are trying to do, but the big question is how much documentation do you have to describe the system that you are trying to program? If there’s ample documentation, gpt is very capable of writing code to get it working. Well documented hardware interfaces are 1-shot. If it is a bit more complicated, expect to spend some time going back and forth trying to dial in the solution. Cursor or Codex would be better suited for this thoug

It seems interaction with the UI is abysmally slow. It takes a good 10 seconds just to click or highlight anything and can't keep up with typing prompts. New conversations do not help. I mainly have been using the desktop app, but I notice the web interface doesn't help all that much. This also occurs between different machines I've tested on. submitted by /u/Bacon_Bacon-Bacon [link] [comments]

One useful odd use is treating ChatGPT as a rehearsal room for decisions, not a content generator. For a small business or class, paste the messy context and ask it to play the three people who will challenge the plan: customer, finance person and beginner learner. The output is not the final answer. It gives you objections, missing assumptions and questions you did not ask. In education, the same pattern works for assessment design. Give it a lesson goal and ask for five ways a student could ap

r/ChatGPT3d ago

Why are we locking ourselves into this loop where context = retrieved text from prior conversations? That is a fundamentally wrong definition. It exists because chat history is the one signal platforms already have, control, and can cheaply index with embeddings and RAG. ChatGPT remembers something you said five days ago, and we call that magic? This isn’t shared family context. It’s shared transcript memory: who said what, and when. That can help with continuity, but it tells you almost nothing

Just a followup in the event someone else has this problem... I had to Install the ChatGPT Codex Connector app in GitHub and that's where I select the repository. The other half of the problem is that, apparently, when the GitHub connector fails a chat the chat disconnects and can't be reconnected. Let me just say... That's stupid and hopefully gets rectified. Now, if you'll excuse me I'm going to go delete the 27 github chats I had to create to test and create a handoff in 2

A few days ago the ChatGPT app on MacOS updated, and it seems to have codex built in by default now. I don't use codex, I only use the chat mode, as I can't run the risk of agents running on my system accessing and potentially uploading confidential data. As such, I've been using the chat mode for investigating and troubleshooting technical issues. To my surprise today it solved an issue for me that it should not have been able to, because it started reading files on my system I neve

I have. I’ve had ChatGPT put a package of custom instructions and system rules and frameworks together in a package containing a long set of instructions for the other AIs to use to critique its whole system. I’ve then used the package on Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Meta, and Grok. The package had them each put their full critiques into a downloadable file and then I gave the files to ChatGPT to analyze and incorporate whatever seemed like the best ideas to implement.
