Several drivers report frequent errors with the in-app navigation, leading to incorrect routes and wasted time. They are considering switching to Google or Apple Maps for more reliable directions.

“Has anyone noticed that the always bad navigation in the Flex app is even worse than it has been? I've noticed it's telling me to turn left when the map shows right, telling me to merge to the highway to the right when it means…”

“Hey so doordash updated again in my area changing a bunch or stuff that of course was working fine before and didn't need changing. Anyways, last month the doordash app was forcing me into using in app navigation even though I had Google maps selected in order to direct me to hotspots but it would work for customer addresses and port out to Google maps. Now it's not opening Google maps at all for anything and I hate in app navigation. I've turned the settings on and off again to try”

Besides the amount of clutter and useless information shown that's not needed, I can't stand the new map, it's hard to tell where an order is going and it doesn't even tell you when it's going out of your zone like it used to on old UI. submitted by /u/Woman_Respector_788 [link] [comments]”

“The routing seems a little worse every shift, but today was so bad that it seemed like a random jumble of numbers scattered across the map out of a dice cup. Ended up backtracking three different times...its so frustrating. I've seen re-routing stuff posted here and there, but usually with, "Hey this is new, take a look and let me know what you think.." Is there anything tried and tested? Something that anyone swears by...that's not too complicated to use even, maybe? Oh my God”

“Sometimes it just says Turn left and doesn't even warn you what you are turning left to. it should say Turn left at Main Street. Etc... The address should already be showing visually when the voice is saying the destination address. I shouldn't have to press on it to see the next step which address number it is. When arriving at the location, the zoom in and the blue triangle should be adjusted perfectly so it's very obvious if we are at the right location. Lately I see the apartment”

“I haven’t DoorDash in like 6 months so I’m back on it. I had an order to pick up and the app kept giving me directions to an ER hospital and drove around to see if the store was nearby. I double checked on the app to see if it had a different entrance and I gave up. So I called support. Yelled at the frustrating AI until it transferred me to a human. Explained to him what is going on and he cancelled the order. Then my next one was nearby the plaza and I could see the mistake on the app because”

“I've only seen one other person mention this issue and they also have a Samsung Galaxy phone. I've tried turning in app navigation off and on several times, force quitting the app etc. but when I have it set to Google Maps navigation it just launches the built in navigation, anyway. I strongly prefer Google Maps to whatever Door Dash uses for a myriad of reasons. submitted by /u/Lincolns_Revenge [link] [comments]”

“This new update with the unlabeled hot spots really sucks. Just a small list of lost functionality for us dashers: 1. No more jump to task. You must deliver in the order decided by DD. Complete Bullshit just like uber now. 2. Cannot get to the completion screen when no signal. If there was no signal at delivery you used to be able to still take a picture after 30 or so seconds and drive til you got a signal and the order would compete now that does not happen. I had to contact support to complet”

“Anyone else feel like the orders have gotten drastically worse since this new update? I didn’t dash yesterday and I logged on tonight and see a whole new looking app. And the orders have been absolutely terrible. Only been able to take two mediocre offers in 3 hours now submitted by /u/Constant_Poetry2908 [link] [comments]”

“When did the UI update? Today was the first time I tried dashing in 6 days and this new interface is SO bad! It doesn’t even show you the drop off details before you accept. Trying to zoom in on the map waste time. You don’t even have a chance to really contemplate the order before it stops counting down and auto declines. submitted by /u/Psychological_Buy_57 [link] [comments]”

“I did the app update and now the navigate button is gone. It will not link to Waze, Google Maps or Apple Maps. Rebooted phone, have tried all kinds of suggestions from Gemini like offloading Waze, turning auto nav on and off, jumping on one leg while rubbing my belly and tapping my head as well as sacrificing a bucket of KFC chicken to Jobu all to no avail. Can anyone help please, providing specific step by step instructions, before I rip out the stickers and start doing Lyft? submitted by”

“When I start a dash and head to the zone, my location doesn't update and is stuck at when I first opened the app. This is a problem because when I do reach the zone, it doesn't register that I'm in the zone, which is really annoying because I can't use Doordash to navigate back to hotspots. Does anyone else have this problem or know a fix? I've tried restarting my phone and clearing all cache, but neither worked. submitted by /u/Palkia88 [link] [comments]”

“I just accepted an instant offer. I was literally in the Whole Foods parking lot. I accepted it and went inside to scan kiosk. 1st thing I noticed was now you can’t map your way to the destination. Usually after accepting an instant offer you can map your way there then use wireless entry to enter before open or after close. The new update asks to tap phone at kiosk. The kiosk is inside and there’s no way at all to go inside because that screen is over the wireless entry/map screen. I had to kno”

“The DD AI is crazy, the map is always sending me in weird directions, so i barely use it, i sat at a cafe for 20 minutes waiting for an order, it would not let me unassign, i used "order still be prepared when i arrived" too, eventually, after i drove away it let me unassign, and the stacked orders, 5 minutes away the same order was stacked with 2 orders i rejected, how the hell we suppose to make money with a crazy AI that actually slows us down on purpose???????? submitted by &”

“I ride a bike. Since yesterday the in app Google maps navigation keeps pausing and not moving forward on routes. It is not my phone. I've had several phones and my new phone is higher end. Anyone else having this issue? submitted by /u/AnAlienFromTheFuture [link] [comments]”

“It randomly loses GPS connection. Google maps, Lyft, Amazon flex, Waze and all other gig apps are working perfectly fine. The phone is Pixel 10a with everything up to date. submitted by /u/Would_Hit_That [link] [comments]”

“anyone else having issues where the app keeps sending you to a completely incorrect address (and telling you the incorrect address so you cant just use a different navigation to get there) and just crashing once you get there and sending you to a completely new address? i am in the NC: hickory zone and talking with some of the people in one of the incorrect restaurants i was sent to multiple dashers where coming in that day then saying after they got in that they where also in the wrong address.”

“So in my area, they've taken out the time and distance on the drop off portion of the ride. Because apparently that was an important update. Noticed small surges since the changes, for the first time in a while. Still not meaningful to make a difference. Also noticed that I am bombarded with reservations, with atleast the first few rides of every morning being reservations and probably a third overall being reservation requests. You'd think they'd put in the time for the reservation.”

“I mean I guess it’s not that safe to do but is the option to go to Home Screen during navigation no longer an option or just my phone. My app is up to date submitted by /u/Top_Appointment_6688 [link] [comments]”

“Hi, thank you for your comment! Unfortunately, it seems to be the problem I can't control, as you should be able to navigate via the navigation bar at the bottom, but it seems to sometimes not work, maybe it's the device you're using, or something else (this is the first time I'm trying out Maze platform), not sure. Thank you anyway!”

“During pickup or ride, you can only access rider chat, preferences to change ride type and navigation. You can’t scroll down to view earnings or open the home button to see any settings include support. Meaning if you have a issue you can’t even go to support during live ride And if you get rides back to back you can’t see your earnings of that previous ride on top bar until you have no rides Is this new or my phone bugging? submitted by /u/Mountain_Road9197 [link] [comments]”

“Does anyone have any idea why sometimes the delivery location cannot be changed? It doesn’t happen on every stop, but often it will just require moving into the location circle, and there’s no “GPS not working” option in the Driver Support menu. If there’s a way around this that would be great, but even an explanation would be nice. submitted by /u/VoodooInfinity [link] [comments]”

“Recently I've had issues when the map pops up to give directions it doesn't show where to go. I have to close in and open it several times to get the actual directions to come up. submitted by /u/Korben88 [link] [comments]”

“Every time I get a stacked order lately, DoorDash navigation routes me to the second restaurant/store pickup instead of the first one. The problem is, once I arrive at the place DoorDash routed me to, the app suddenly pulls up the first customer's pickup, which is now far away from where I am. I then have to backtrack to the first restaurant and end up being marked late on that order. This has happened on basically every stacked order I've gotten, so now I have to manually check the task”

“Every where I go, whether to restraunts or home addresses, the map will give me last second information to turn. It will also make me take longer routes than necessary. Nearly every order I get is a dogshit experience getting to where I need to go. submitted by /u/Senior_Yellow_872 [link] [comments]”

“Last night had a whole foods order. Started driving. An hour into driving I noticed the map was never really moving. The arrow was like stuck on the highway and even if I turned off the highway the arrow stayed there like I was driving. Order got cancelled. Then the route disappeared. I called support because I was angry I was driving over an hour to nowhere. Support told me to dispose of the food. I threw it all away as it was thawed and mushy. I woke up this morning and got an update to return”

“I've never been warned by the app before that it could not find me a path to the next delivery and I was in my own. Not shockingly, Google Maps had no trouble getting me there. submitted by /u/gsopp79 [link] [comments]”

“Pretty much dash anytime is removed, my zone has been grayed out the entire day, EBT removed, and navigation is hilariously broken to where no matter which setting i click on it always uses in app navigation so my app is completely broken and super glitchy when doing orders! submitted by /u/Skiller-One-One-Five [link] [comments]”
