“I am new to this, I don’t know how it works but I have question why is customer promotion taxed from us drivers? Does anyone have any idea about it”
“Updated this as a TIP came flying in. I cant imagine how much money drivers lose out on sweating customer ratings. Yes I took this at 86c a mile because I wanted to see what 4.20 was all about. He needed a round trip to get his documents he forgot in his car to fly. His wife…”
“Why does it make me feel so much better seeing that their percent taken is below 5%😂”
DoorDash and Uber drivers express concerns about accurately calculating their net income after accounting for expenses like gas, taxes, and fees. One driver created an app to automate this calculation, highlighting the complexity of understanding true earnings.

“They're desperate for new drivers, but still pushing shit offers lmao and with gas as high as it is, I wouldn't refer my worst enemy to drive for these greedy assclowns 🤡 submitted by /u/adonis_minus_20 [link] [comments]”
“Hi everyone, I’ve just financed a car through carmax, they’re the holder. Can I drive it for uber? I didn’t tell me my insurance was going to use it for uber. I’m in Boston submitted by /u/Substantial_Name_952 [link] [comments]”
“I always notice there’s a few bucks missing from the one on the top. So where is it going? They already charge the fees and insurance off the ride taken. submitted by /u/Suitable-Sky123 [link] [comments]”

He needed a round trip to get his documents he forgot in his car to fly. His wife stayed at airport so he didnt have phone to update the return. No problem! Left the app running. It recalculated. Add tip. Met my threshold in end, over $1/mile for the trip start to end submitted by /u/JumpingJa”

“My stats on Uber vs. DoorDash this about sums up that Uber is a garbage company lol. I switch back and forth between Uber and DoorDash, and my stats on Uber are horrible, and my stats on DoorDash are perfect. This about sums up Uber as a company. I’ve got almost 2k more deliveries on Uber though, but yeah, anyways. What’s your guys thoughts on this? Just interesting how this can be lol submitted by /u/International_Mud260 [link] [comments]”
“For context: I just started doing door dash as a side gig again this week for the first time in years. Been seeing decent orders 1.5-3x pay to mile ratio. Has to be the best I’ll ever come across for the amount of miles (6.6). GF and I went to grab dinner and I like to see what comes in while we are out and around. Then this showed up. Initially came in as a $15.85+ then turned into $27.85 after delivery. submitted by /u/HighlightFalse1981 [link] [comments]”
“All, Do yall make both $30+/hour and $1+/mile? I mean seriously how many % of drivers actually hit this mark? Based on complaining in the sub, I think people who meet these are very rare or minimum. If you are one of rare breeds then where you at and what market you in? submitted by /u/NY10 [link] [comments]”
“Honestly this rules. The chauffeur jokes write themselves, but being able to actually work through the commute instead of white-knuckling traffic is a massive quality-of-life upgrade. And cheaper than before on top of it? Respect for doing the "ridiculous" thing.”
“Alright man I've been doing "Uber Eats" for a couple of years now. Usually only on the weekends for some extra money because I'm an idiot and I got myself into debt. This year unfortunately I had to drive for them more than I wanted. I usually take a break in the summer time and then pick it back up around Halloween to Xmas. Not this year... They act like they are a cool company at first and then it turns out they are just pieces of shit just like every other company in this st”
“The conversation needs to go like this: I'll drive myself to engagements There will will only be one set of fuel reimbursement for each engagement Cool, X's driving makes me feel unsafe, I'll drive myself and he can have the reimbursement. Stop over thinking.”

“Hey everybody, I’m just curious. Does your Uber Earnings Select Product page look like this too, or is it just mine? Mine only shows Electric, and I don’t even drive an electric vehicle. 👀 Can you check yours and tell me what it shows? submitted by /u/ApartmentEast9404 [link] [comments]”

“"Driver Appreciation Week" highlights the deep irony of the gig economy. Frankly, it makes me want to log off for good. Having previously worked as a flight attendant, I cannot help but compare the two industries. In gig work, however, the driver is forced to wear every single hat. We act as the gate agents, pilots, flight attendants, and ground crew combined. Our cargo consists of boxes rather than passengers, but we remain the critical final link to the consumer. Despite our essentia”
“NJ drivers, are you making money right now driving or delivering? I drove a couple years ago but was in Pa, so trying to see if it’s worth it right now with gas as it is. submitted by /u/Silver-Bluebird3229 [link] [comments]”
“Every driver gets this conversation: “Do you make good money doing this?” And I swear some of y’all start selling the fucking job. “Oh yeah, it can be pretty good money.” Why are you doing that? No. Tell them: “You can make money, but unless you really know this city, this probably ain’t for you.” Because that’s the truth. If you don’t know your market, you’re gonna get fucked. You don’t know which rides look good but actually suck. You don’t know which neighborhoods are dead zones. You don’t kn”

“So, I am a Platinum Dasher with an overall score of 98/100 (YES, I know that this subreddit hates that but that's besides the point, and I don't care to argue about it). I have a 4.95/5 rating from customers, a 98% on-time rate and a 100% completion rate. A week ago I was doing a late night Jack-in-the-box order. The line was 30 minutes long, they offered me to unassign the order with no penalty to my stats. Since I was already stuck in the drive-through line, I decided to proceed. I inf”
“Well clevelands hunger games are over. I placed 8th with 98 rides. First place had like 140 trips. I hope this isnt something they do constantly. submitted by /u/DatePutrid4753 [link] [comments]”
“Just received a MATCH offer(match offers are always garbage!). Offer only paid $4.40 for a 20 minute job. Instant decline. However, before I declined, I noticed the PAX rating of 4.20. How bad of a PAX do you have to be to earn a 4.20?? That's the lowest I've ever noticed on any offer I've received. submitted by /u/MindlessAuthor9824 [link] [comments]”
“Yeah this is fair and I don't disagree. Results are the whole point. I've had people doubt my numbers before and the receipts either back you up or they don't. Mine do, so I'm not sweating it.”
“Anybody getting bombarded with Uber selling all kinds of insurance to drivers so they can get kickbacks. Kid you not, not a day goes by they’re not selling some sh*t to drivers. submitted by /u/Optimal_Willow_4389 [link] [comments]”

“Does anyone know why most of oregon pays 1.23 a mile, but the Portland metro area pays .76 a mile. You would think pay would be more in the Portland area. submitted by /u/Organic-Salamander36 [link] [comments]”
“How much money are you wasting here, my good sir? I’m thinking it was at least $10 and this is the driver cut? What a joke. Stop accepting these dumb offers. Once I land a job, I’m leaving this company. submitted by /u/ilovehamburgers [link] [comments]”
“I have this uncomfortable feeling that doing an unskilled job such as uber for shit wages is just not worth it. I feel like I'm useless to society or something so I have to uber. submitted by /u/Clean-Af-6653 [link] [comments]”
“This is my first time driving in 3 weeks and today I cancelled like 3rides for every 4 rides request they sent me. You all need to stop letting Uber play you all or being desperate. submitted by /u/Glass_Ad_4625 [link] [comments]”

“Title: Today is my last day driving for Uber. There’s more to life than this. Just finished my last trip. Logged off for good. I’ve been grinding these streets long enough to know this isn’t living. Waking up already tired, chasing algorithms, dealing with ratings that control your income, watching the miles pile up while the money barely moves. Slave wages dressed up as “flexibility.” I can’t keep pretending this is sustainable. Kanye said something years ago that got him dragged for it. Differ”
“I see a handful of people asking if this job is worth it, or if they can make $X, etc. I figured as someone who's been doing this for a little while (nearing 1k deliveries, so not a vet, but still.) that I'd give my opinion. Like the majority of questions on this sub, the question of "How much money can I make?" Depends on your market. For me (east TN) I can make 3-4k easy, and if I wanna work every day from noon to midnight, I can make over 6k. But the caviat is that on the da”
“I'm doing my part. I decline shit rides from this pyschopathic and evil company. Acceptance rate is 2%. Have to or they would have be driving miles for pennies and probably 10$ an hour. It shouldn't be this way. They shouldn't be claiming as much of the fare as they do. But there are more Idiots out there who are taking these shit paying rides. The only solution, it seems, is to quit. Hopefully by September, I won't have to do this anymore. This is a weird country. You would thin”
“I have no more energy left to complain anymore…i give up. When their business goes down, i’ll be happy. It used to be “they take 50%”….this is just exploitation submitted by /u/Anonymous666o [link] [comments]”
“Thinking about driving in the city because of high demand and dense population? Numerous events with high potential for earnings? Quick trips equal easy money? 😆 Theory is awesome. Reality is not. First and foremost — just do not drive in Philly. I grew up in the city, lower NE, lived in and near it most of my adult life, and spent the past 4.5 years driving rideshare in Southeastern PA. I no longer drive in the city. What follows is why — experience based, not anecdotal, and not a rant. This i”

“Been seeing alot of complaints recently with drivers that have been going through a dry stretch. What times of the day are you guys dashing and where are you located?
