“Yes, this is a $1 tip for a ride that was nearly a month ago. If Pol Pot were still alive, I wouldn't do something this abhorrent to even him. I wish there was an option other than "send thanks for tip", such as "send back the worthless pocket change that is less than the cash…”

“Let me preface this by saying I know, I know financial situations aren't the best for people right now. But the fact that I get tipped on less than 15% of my rides is crazy. I know these turdballs are spending 50 60 bucks on alcohol at these bars im picking em up from. They cant…”

“Uber legit stealing tips. I checked trip details and showed tip but when i check my earnings statement there is no tip. Neither my daily earnings show any tip. Contacted support about it and they said multiple drivers having the same issue.”

Drivers report Uber taking a portion of passenger tips, leaving them with less income than expected. One driver explicitly calls it 'tip mofos,' indicating frustration and feeling cheated out of earned money.

“Im just entering the 21st century, and finally got an Uber account. Took my first ride. Bill was $26. I then tipped $5 What's a reasonable tip? Not looking for great tip ideas, just tip size that's is reasonable and repeatable (by me). Is it a percentage? Or an "at least" amount? Tyia submitted by /u/Electronic_Nail_7433 [link] [comments]”

“Delivered to this drunk guy in an apartment guy meets me in the garage drunk asf but a good guy. He shows me him submit the $50 tip on top yet DoorDash blatantly steals the $50 and only gives me the original offer. I seen the $50 go through on his phone I’m not dumb. I hope dd gets sued into oblivion one day by a class action. This has also happened before to me $50 again and the guy was nice enough to ask me if I got it and then when I showed I didn’t he zelled me. F DOORDASH submitted by”

“I've been driving for a little over a week. I was accepting literally everything I got offered.b going through the numbers, I realized I was getting robbed on food and alcohol deliveries after having hit all three payout bonuses. On the other hand, I was averaging a little over 30% on tips from uber-x trips. Today I decided, screw my acceptance rating, I'm going to turn deliveries off entirely and cherry pick my rides. Many of my offered rides today were utter garbage(35 minutes or more”

“I am forced to into thinking that my service sucks with not earning a single dollar tip on many days recently with lots of driving 20 trips minimum a day in Vancouver. Am I that bad or that my suspicion that Uber is dipping into my tips is valid? submitted by /u/Weird_Series_7188 [link] [comments]”

“I had a fare today where the rider extended the drive mid ride and then left a 5 dollar tip mid ride as well. The base fare increased by about 3 dollars, however when I looked at my earnings I noticed they paid me the original base fare. I had to contact support with three different agents before someone actually corrected the error. Be careful and keep track of your earnings from each ride. If I didn't contact support they would've stole $3 from me. I wonder how many times its happened”

“Does Uber sometimes take a very long time to process tips? I got a tip from a ride almost a month ago. I find it hard to believe a passenger just woke up and remembered the great service and shot me a fiver 😁 submitted by /u/Mci52 [link] [comments]”

“More often than not, when I say, “I question whether we actually get 100% of our tips,” I’m mostly joking. But someone please make this make sense. I’ve done about 60 trips this week. A few tips trickled in Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. Nothing crazy. Pretty normal. And now, once again, we’ve arrived at that bizarre day where suddenly it feels like almost EVERY passenger is tipping, and tipping fairly well. It’s happened enough times now that I’ve started noticing a pattern. The only thing I c”

I wish there was an option other than "send thanks for tip", such as "send back the worthless pocket change that is less than the cash out fee". I haven't even Ubered in nearly 2 weeks, so I would actually have to pay Uber to get this "tip" money right now and be at a net loss 😂 Seriously, if you're not gonna tip”

I know these turdballs are spending 50 60 bucks on alcohol at these bars im picking em up from. They cant spare 2 dollars? That's all I need, a dollar or 2 from every rides makes a world of difference. But I also cant really blame em tho, 15 dollar rides to go 6 mins is crazy. submitted by /u/Guilty_Pay_4”

“So this is my 3rd day driving for Uber. Had a $15 and $100 cash tip from someone I was about to 1 star lol My second day’s tips was over 50% of my fare. Is this normal? Are high tippers part of the honeymoon phase? lol submitted by /u/Particular-Cell4254 [link] [comments]”

“I’m a rider, not a driver and always tip. I’ve seen Some posts on here suggesting that uber will lower the percentage that they pay a driver when there’s a tip. Does it matter when I tip? I’ve been trying to wait until after the ride is over, but in a few cases (getting to the airport with bags, in a rush, etc) I’ve forgotten until the next time I open the app. TL;dr What’s the best way to tip? submitted by /u/fauxjob [link] [comments]”

“Found this out yesterday while helping a confused passenger. On cash trips, the post-trip options to add a tip within the app are disabled with a note that "tips are not available for this ride type." So, if you take cash trips, don't expect a tip beyond what cash you are given - if the passenger gives you more than the app asks for, confirm it's a tip and then enter they paid the exact amount requested. This is the only way you will get tipped on a Cash Trip. This is probably”

“I did a trip 2 days ago, the next night I did the same drive for the rider again. a few minutes later I got a notification in app I received a $10 tip. then a few second later I get the notification in the uber pro card app that I had $5.00 deposited. i checked the uber pro app and it confirmed it was a tip from that trip, and the uber app said it was a $10 tip, yet I only recieved a $5 deposit. support can’t explain it or even understand it, and kept giving me answers for customers about how a”

“The claim of all your tips are 100% yours is a straight up lie. If you use the backup feature on your Uber card (which is the pay advance for those who don't know ) you don't get to keep anything. For one not only does it force you to take the full 150 regardless of how much you need or not and then everything you make on The Uber app from your fares, adjustments, bonuses and most importantly your TIPS are all taken from you until said balance is paid. Therefore making the claim of tips”

“How much DO I have to tip for AC in 90 degree weather??? I've had 2 rides now with no ac in this heatwave. Why?? Are they really just that cheap because I gave a lower tip each time for that reason. submitted by /u/Ok-Type-1169 [link] [comments]”

“Hey everyone! I’d really appreciate some advice on improving my tipping rate. My hourly earnings are okay, but I only receive tips on about 15-20% of my rides. I do my best to provide a comfortable experience: the car is clean, has leather seats, smells nice, and I usually play calm music or Bruno Mars. I don’t force conversation, I greet riders warmly and don’t initiate any conversation unless they do. Today, every rider gave me 5 stars and the rides were smooth, but I still received no tips, i”
