“Does anyone else wish apartments would have giant preferably neon signs(at night) that tell you what building number each one is? Day 2 of delivering and so many people give the worst directions on how to get to their unit”
“Okay so, for context. My brother ordered food to be delivered to our building. He couldn’t answer the phone because of a family matter at the time so the delivery driver was going to leave it at our main doors to the apartment building. The condo manager told him he cannot leave…”

DoorDash drivers are frustrated by apartment complexes with illogical or missing unit numbers, making deliveries difficult and leading to delays. This often involves needing access codes and navigating confusing layouts.

“I was working on a double order. I was to deliver the first order to a maze of an apartment complex. There weren't any clear markings on any of the buildings. To give you an idea of the setup, the buildings consisted of a bunch of little 3 house units with "A, B, C" on each door. It was also the middle of the night. I looked at the reference photo in the app, and I left it at that same exact door that the photo showed (or maybe they all look like that, I'm not sure). I did rece”
“I have just started doing it a week ago, i usually to the early morning blocks, so i have noticed that they are reducing my standings for not completing the deliveries but i go there the apartments are not accessible and we can’t contact before 8 am. But they are reducing my standings for incomplete deliveries, what to do in this scenario? submitted by /u/Potential-Buddy- [link] [comments]”
“Gosh golly I feel so alive!! I was sent to a large apartment complex with no code, just a long paragraph of notes from the customer saying to call through call box or contact leasing office. Idiot orders for overnight 3AM delivery, like what do these people expect? Decided I'd rather have the ding then to have to drive back to the warehouse for this dish package. Left it outside of the mail room and just selected "in a secure mailroom". Took a close-up of that bad boy, customer can”
“The only thing I saw on the app was on the top right of the screen. The messages icon and it literally said something along the lines of "customer contact is limited". So I was locked out waiting like 7 minutes until the customer mom came outside and got the order. I read on here that people just leave it at the gate, but it was my first time delivering and wanted to do it properly at least. I read people just leave it at the gate and text/leave a note telling the customer to put a gat”
“Delivered to the wrong apartment, took picture, realized it was the wrong one late, came back grab the package and placed it at the right one. What to do in this situation besides ring bell and took a new picture and keep it just in case. I will get DING for this? Called support to inform of the matter. submitted by /u/Aguitegui [link] [comments]”
“Is it just me, or do apartment complexes specifically design their building numbers to be completely invisible at night? I spent 15 minutes today walking around in circles with a customer’s food because the building numbers were hidden behind trees, unlit, or printed in 2-inch font. Half the time, the GPS drops you in the middle of the parking lot and just says "You have arrived." If you live in an apartment, please at least add instructions on how to find your specific unit in the del”
“This was a dorm and man when I was in college I at least had the decency to meet my dasher downstairs if I was 3+ floors up. If this was like a hotel I wouldn’t mind it tbh but anyone who’s lived on a college campus knows how confusing the dorms can be sometimes. Can’t even get into the building without someone letting me in, and god forbid you have another order to take care of submitted by /u/Limp_Maintenance4278 [link] [comments]”
“Building 8.5? Wait til you run into these types of inaccurate apartment building signs. Especially if its pouring rain outside. Apartment deliveries should pay at least $2 more imo. It can be apartment hell most of the time. With the pin location usually off innacurate. submitted by /u/Merwhooee [link] [comments]”
“Okay so, for context. My brother ordered food to be delivered to our building. He couldn’t answer the phone because of a family matter at the time so the delivery driver was going to leave it at our main doors to the apartment building. The condo manager told him he cannot leave it there. Then, the manager met my brother outside when he was going to pick up the package at the main doors and said if you have a food delivery and it’s left in the common areas, I will throw it out. I messaged the co”
“If you tap the house icon BEFORE accepting an offer, the map will display the drop off address. Easy way to avoid problematic apartments, offices, bad tippers from the past, etc. submitted by /u/lmfaorn1998 [link] [comments]”
“I had a doordash yesterday to a young adult male and he lived in a giant apartment complex with like 30 buildings so I tried to call the man, and he said his phone couldn't accept my calls that he could only text over the door dash messaging system. Well when ever I was finally able to locate him I handed over his food and took a picture of him holding the food in hand. 12 hrs later and I get dinged for the first time ever and Iost my platinum because of it, is there way to have dash support”
“As an apartment resident who's management often does food truck days, I can say if coming to my complex you'd definitely be wasting your time. They send us a text, maybe put a paper flyer up on the building the day before, and they only pay the food trucks to stay (if paying them at all) until around 7pm which is way too early for a lot of us. Sometimes they let a Comcast rep stand out there with the food truck too and I have no interest in small talk about my Internet service while wait”

“Delivering to apartments who request overnight delivery where they want you to drop the delivery at THE LEASING OFFICE despite knowing the leasing office isn’t a 24 hour business. I just had to return multiple packages to the station because a few customers were too inconsiderate to realize that I can’t break into the leasing office for them at 5am. 😑 submitted by /u/Doctor-Clark-Savage [link] [comments]”
“Lesson of the day, screenshot apartment numbers when dropping off orders. This was a double order for two people at the same apartment. I took it to the apartment listed, the female customer proceeded to call me 8 times before I blocked the number and then switched to texting. Where she said they were going to report me and called me unprofessional because I didn’t answer them. This agent was also the third one I got transferred to but apparently nothing matters other than keeping secrets I alre”
“How the heck does this even happen? App took me to the apartment complex and directly in front of the customer's door with the correct apartment # on the door. As soon as I drop off the order, snap a picture, and try to complete the delivery, it won't let me. Then, I noticed the address changed. What the heck?!? I call customer service and they said that I delivered it to the wrong address. I said the app took me straight to the door and I delivered it where it told me to. Anyhow, I got”

“Got a contract violation for this. How can I pick it up on time when its already late when I get the offer? Why am I bejng penalized fir this? I had another order I was working on when this came in. The first offer was a couple breakfast sandwiches to the condos literally across thr street. This McDonald's was at least a 6 minute drive each way. I made the judgement call to take yhe breakfast sandwiches across the road instead of driving around for 12 minutes with them in my car just to driv”
