“I’m getting a new set of stairs from the kitchen to our newly finished basement. The flooring in the basement is Lifeproof Chiffon Lace (exact color of the tread molding in this picture) which is almost an exact match to our kitchen floor tile. Our contractor, who I trust, is recommending that we do oak and stain it. He said the only way to possibly achieve the above color is to get white oak (which is 3x expensive) and then get a really light gray stain. He said I will never come close to the C”

“Can I get any help in how to identify this laminate flooring? I don’t have any boxes leftover, and the only stamp on the back is 2009/09/11 of each piece. The house was built late 2009. 6” wide, 48” long, 8.5mm thick. Thanks for any guidance. submitted by /u/Brettbowling [link] [comments]”

“I have a small townhome. The main floor is a living space, kitchen, and powder room. Flooring in living space is hardwood ( a light oak). Pic attached. I’m planning on remodeling kitchen and powder room which is right next to kitchen with same floor. It seems like tile would be recommended over LVP wood like. It seems that LVP next to real hardwood looks icky. But what tile would look good next to this color hardwood submitted by /u/ariadnesthread62 [link] [comments]”

“Hi there, I'm not an expert on wood, most of the house is finished in Pine inside so I'm assuming the stairs are as well. I just don't know if these were just clear coated bare pine or if they were stained. (Or if I'm wrong about the wood) What's the best clear option for stair treads? Poly? It's pretty high traffic with dog claws and all Edit: Looking around online it actually looks like they could be maple submitted by /u/thegolfist [link] [comments]”

“We are closing on our first house on Friday. It is a 1969 house, very beautiful but needs updates. We are doing the flooring first using LVP and slate tile for the bathrooms and kitchen. My question is I think we should do different color/style of flooring for the downstairs and upstairs. My wife thinks we keep it all the same throughout although I see her side also. What are the opinons on it? It's a split level home and I enjoy multiple textures and styles but do understand keeping it the”

“We are buying a house and the current owners say they do not know what type of hardwood it is. We are hoping to learn and be able to properly care for it and have the house humidifier settings properly set for the wood as we live in a dry climate. submitted by /u/CorkyS92 [link] [comments]”

“We're staining new oak stair treads to match downstairs laminate. Any advice for stain color combo? Here's a pic of our laminate submitted by /u/Geeniegem [link] [comments]”

“This is nearly 100-year-old Oak. I am 90% certain it's Red Oak, and that it was refinished in the '90s with oil based polyurethane. I know the best way for me to match this coloring would be to just refinish again with oil polyurethane. What I want to know is if this is actually Red Oak, and if there is a water-based option I can use to achieve the same or similar results. I've looked around a little and I feel like the BonaAmber water based sealer would work. Essentially, I'm lo”

“Picked up engineered hardwood flooring from a scratch and dent store and realized over half of them are crowned about 1/16" across the 7" wide boards. Not sure if i can even return them, and i did get them pretty cheap. 1/2" thick with a 3mm white oak layer. I got them home and I'm going to try and acclimate them since I assume it happened from a humid warehouse. What are the chances they flatten over the next week? submitted by /u/cautiousgrape68 [link] [com”
