“My car keeps getting infested with ants despite multiple attempts at killing them with Terro ant baits and multiple cleanings. The baits make them go away for a week or so but they always come back. I believe this is due to an infestation in my work's parking lot. There are very…”

“I have had an on again off again issue with ants the last few years. 2 weeks ago I had ants in my bathroom so I put down a small terro bait...they ate it dry so I put down another one. Gone. Put down a big one thinking it would nuke the colony. Nope. Yesterday I put down a 2nd…”
Users report persistent ant infestations despite using Terro baits and perimeter sprays like Ortho. The baits work temporarily but ants return, suggesting the queen survives or the colony adapts. Users seek long-term solutions beyond DIY methods.

“We are having an ant infestation localized to the kitchen. I heard about the gel bait strategy and bought Advion ant. Whenever I see a swarm of ants feeding on some real food residue, I remove the real food source and apply the bait. As…”
“My car keeps getting infested with ants despite multiple attempts at killing them with Terro ant baits and multiple cleanings. The baits make them go away for a week or so but they always come back. I believe this is due to an infestation in my work's parking lot. There are very little ants, if any, in my car when I leave for work but when I come out on break it looks like the attached pictures. I can't even sit in my car with it like this because they just crawl all over me. I do eat in”
“So we moved into a new place 3 months ago and from a week in we noticed ants entering through different corners of the house. We put down terro traps and some of the terro pellets outside and the problem seemed to get better and worse depending on the day but never stopped. 3 weeks of this and we ended up calling a pest control company local to us with good reviews. We've had them come 4 times in the last 2 months and they've added more bait each time to different areas in and out of the”

“Help me figure this out please I have been trying to stop ants invading my house for over 3 months and starting to give up. Tried all solutions including Terro liquid bait for outdoor and indoor, Advion gel all over the corners and spraying constantly with Permethrin around the house but they keep coming back from every corner of the house. Any tips how to get rid of them? For reference the picture is after 1 week of fully cleaning that area. submitted by /u/zinzanzakona [link]”
“I had these ants show up in my bathroom a month and change ago. I used Adivon per the advice of folks here. It worked, their numbers dwindled and then they seemed to die off. However, last night I noticed that they were back. I reapplied Adivon, as the picture shows. Ant advice? submitted by /u/Reginald_Venture [link] [comments]”
“I've been battling them for 4 months now. I've tried hot shot liquid bait, terro liquid bait, raid ant bait, the borax/sugar/cotton ball things, hot shot maxattrax ant bait, and nothing is working. Sure sometimes after a few days there's not as many but within a week there's a bunch back. They are only around kitchen sink and bathtub. submitted by /u/Admirable-Raisin5013 [link] [comments]”
“It's summer time, so que the odoroous ants in our kitchen. I've always use Terro stations because it's readily available everywhere. Once a station even gets a little congested, I swap out for a new one. I thought I had things under control, because there werent any for a day or two... but a few showed up. I hopped on Amazon and bought some Advion stations. And now it's worse than ever. And look, I know it's only been 3-4 days since i set it out... but the issue is that I fig”
“I believe we have Argentinian ants here in CA. The ants have been coming inside the apartment for about a month now and I have been baiting with Tero. I just started with Advion a couple days ago. They seem to be coming out from the baseboards for the most part. I'm waiting for activity to stop so then I can use silicone sealant where there are cracks in the baseboard. I have already been successful with this tactic in the bathroom, where I sealed it with the silicone sealant, and then I did”
“Been dealing with ants for the past couple of weeks. Tried using Terro, but the ants completely ignored it. Then tried mixing Terro with peanut butter, and the ants took that, but I think it killed them too quickly since some ants didn't quite make the journey back. This is Advance 365. The ants are taking the granules, but most of them are piling the granules up by the entry point. Is this normal? submitted by /u/sparklyish [link] [comments]”
“With these heat waves, I've been dealing with so many ants and at first used Terro, then CombatMax dual traps (when the colony ignored Terro), and now I've been using a combo of the CombatMax and Advion ant gel. This new colony (which came out of my light fixture this morning), is going for the ant gel, but then then they go up to the perimeter of the ceiling instead of going back inside the nest. I've watched them long enough to see that they aren't actually going anywhere else,”
“this morning i found ants coming from my electrical socket and put down terro bait, since it was the only one i had on hand, and later today i saw a roach in my room. it wasn't massive and i didn't get too close to see if it was similar to a german one or not, but my house has never had a problem with roaches besides the occasional straggler. so i was wondering if i should be concerned about using the terro bait again since it seems like it was attracted to my room only after the fact? a”
“Hi there, there are some nest debris recently in the house. Already used Terro bait for 10 days and added Advion Gel for 3 days. Ants are still active. Most ants are tiny black ants. But find some wings in the debris. Are they sweet ants or termites? Thanks in advance! submitted by /u/gatorbonita [link] [comments]”
“I feel like I'm fighting a losing battle. First the ants came through a kitchen outlet. (Terro seemed to do the job until a few days later.) Then a crack in the kitchen window. (Terro again while I waited on Advion and switched over to it.) And now they are in a bathroom. (Advion only, discovered them 6 hours ago.) Should I give up on baiting at this point? They just seem to be moving around. I've placed an order for Alpine WSG already. Thanks for any advice! submitted by /u/”
“I had a bunch of ants in my room so I put terro ant bait and the ants initially increased but then they decreased and there was a lot less for two days but this morning there is an entirely new wave of ants. How many “waves” of ants will there be until they are officially gone? submitted by /u/Ok_Carpet_304 [link] [comments]”
“Every few weeks, a new group emerges. How can I take care of the scent trails from outside? I'm afraid to caulk because then I can't even take care of them? I just leave the terro out submitted by /u/grotesque_awareness [link] [comments]”
“Ants started coming out where the grout is missing in my new shower. These Terro ant baits have been down for about two months but haven’t had any effect. They seem to love it but it’s not slowing them down. I wanted to wait until the colony was handled by the poison before patching the grout. But I’m ready to go ahead and fix it. Is it okay to just go ahead and repair? submitted by /u/chronostrigger414 [link] [comments]”
“I moved into my home in mid-May, and there were ants here already. Having never dealt with ants in my adult life, I took advice from friends and sprayed my perimeter with Ortho and used Terro baits. Terro baits would work, and then they’d come back. So after doing more research, I learned that 1) Ortho was MAYBE keeping new ants from coming inside but very likely trapped the ones living on my walls inside, and 2) Terro was likely working too quickly to kill the queen and by extension the colony.”
