“I started my channel back in 2011, didn't start uploading content until 2023. I have nearly 50 videos and over 5K subscribers. Is it a good time to start earning? If so, how do I start?”
“To be honest, if you cannot hit 8000 watch hours in one year you're not gonna make any substantial amount of money anyway... Speaking from experience, i've been monetized for one year, got over 150k watchours and got paid a little over 1 months salary. 150.000 + watchhours. 8000…”
“The only hard part is still gaining subscribers. I'm glad the minimum is still 1K. I remember because back when the 1K subscribers limit was imposed monetization was quite achievable when I had a tech tutorials channel because many people come to your video searching for a fix…”
Multiple new creators discuss their income and the challenges of monetization. One creator reports earning $500 a month after 9 months, while another mentions difficulty achieving success even after years of effort. There's also discussion about avoiding AI-generated content.

“Every second post on my feed is someone claiming they make $50k a month from faceless youtube channels with AI. Usually followed by "comment YouTube and I'll send you my free course". I got curious enough to actually try it. My one rule is that…”
“Totally agree, when you take a step back to think about it logically. The difference between 4k and 8k watch hours in a year is barely anything if you're goal is to make money”
“That is awesome. Could I have numbers tho? Trying to understand the statistics of YouTube”
Based on post/comment history, you absolutely do not make 10k a month.
“Tf why would u try something ior even do it for 8 years if it isnt making u money or covering ur expenses”

“Sorry, but in case no one has suggested it yet, you can pay around $250 for a freelancer on Upwork to get your channel monetised. I have done this for one channel, my partner for two. But the big money are in affiliate and brand deals, not ad revenue, so it might not even be worth it. For context, I am starting a new channel this month, a branded channel (my other one is faceless), and I am not going to worry about ad revenue in the sligthest. I have nearly 4000 short-form tutorial videos on my”
“Yeah even there are free videos in yt .. that teaches ai etc.. that teaches iman gadzhis paid programs for free🤓”

“Seven months ago I started making faceless short videos for YouTube Shorts and TikTok, monetized through their creator payment programs. Total earned so far: $1,143. I want to share the real numbers because this community actually cares about the math behind side income, not just the headline. The person you see in my videos does not actually exist. I generated a synthetic face using AI, no real human and no deepfake involved, and that same character appears across everything I make. I mention t”
“The only hard part is still gaining subscribers. I'm glad the minimum is still 1K. I remember because back when the 1K subscribers limit was imposed monetization was quite achievable when I had a tech tutorials channel because many people come to your video searching for a fix and a good tutorial might get around 10K-100K views in avg. Still, less people subscribe to those channels because they have no use of following videos of issue fixes they don't need at the moment. Of course I am t”
“At 4000 watch hours, the money made for most channels is so negligible, it’s doesn’t even really matter. To be fair, it feels good to get monetized, but it’s really nothing more than a pat yourself on the back milestone if you are barely meeting the requirements.”
“if he could reliably pull 30k a month off a channel, the class wouldnt be the business.”
It can take YEARS to start seeing any ammount of money realistically.
“YouTube. I was lucky to get in early arpund 2013 but it would be impossible to start now and achieve the same success.”
“I dont think its a meaningful barrier. Even 8000 watch hours only converts to a few hundred bucks. Thats a few hundred bucks A YEAR . So I dont know, you cant really take the money serious until youve got many many times more views than that anyway, so if youre going to be successful in the end, it wouldnt really matter if the threshold was 20,000 watch hours.”
“I found it funny people downplay how hard this is for small creator 'It only make 30$' yeah, it's still real money, but now daddy YouTube have to take it away for their CEO bonuses. 'It's easy if your video is good' yeah, it's also easy to be rich if you have unique skills. What's your point? Small creator are mostly amateur with little skills. You are basically pressuring them out and let the big creator win.”
“Hoping to hit monetization before Feb but my best followed channel has less than 200 subscribers so not sure I can make 🤬”
“Entry point is only 8000 hours and after that you need 1000 hours to maintain it why people saying complete BS everywhere. It’s getting even easier and not worse. Instead of getting 4000 hours and maintaining 4000 hours. At least this is what it says on support YouTube page Edit: I thought I need to maintain the 4000 hours currently. This is my bad. submitted by /u/Intrepid_Plane_9359 [link] [comments]”
“Well I'm thinking to make money not just wish YouTube but all socials maybe exapt FB, and I was thinking with sponsorships any ideas on this”
“I mean $50/mo is literally nothing. You could flip 2-3 shitty items on facebook and make $20 a piece and earn your $50 bucks. It would be WAY easier to make $50 bucks a month other than videos.”
“For me, at a 6 minute AVD the minimum requirement to get monetized (8k watch hours) would earn 160€. If you can't hit it in half a year, I'm sorry but you won't be earning basically anything from ads to begin with.”
“You've got to grow faster. If you struggle to get monetized, youre going to struggle to make money”
“Probably everyone is fed enough with single request from AI and posts "how i made 5k $ " using AI. If this guy makes and build watches, and makes non ai single request slop - i have no doubt , he will find his audience. Im not native english speaking, but i've seen plenty of "handwatches" channels in local language and results are min 40k views .”
“As the title says-how realistic is it to hit around $500 a month in 9-10 months of uploading? I will probably make long form content similar to "easy, actually" guy-so a "stickman" explaining or teaching different topics in a simple way. Ofc there's not a gurantee of either yes or no, but I'm wondering about the most probable outcome. submitted by /u/lukaa27 [link] [comments]”
