“ok sure. I'm pretty bad at using obs and stuff tho. also will stuttering be a problem. I'm also very bad at pronunciation of the letters r and l”
“The problem is there are tons of them Most of tjem say different things”
“I think the core issue for most people is the lack of authenticity. The actual post focuses on creators using AI to reassure themselves that their channel is thriving or failing, whichever it may be. Essentially, don’t let it allude to conclusions that aren’t there.”
Aspiring creators are struggling to meet YouTube's 300 watch hour requirement for monetization, with some barely reaching 300 hours despite consistent effort. The pressure to hit this metric is causing frustration and uncertainty about their channel's viability.

“You ever try to show a funny video to someone and its super awkward because they just dont "get it" the way you do? Everyone's algorithms are built for THEM. My own is barely entertaining enough for me sometimes, much less someone else's. You need…”

What has worked for me, streaming & making my own clips(with stream markers) to turn into shorts, after a few hours off that the hate how you sound part of your brain…
“You have to cut out the intro. I know it’s “your thing”. But “your thing” is working against your goal. Nobody wants to suffer a 3 minute intro. Do you???? No. The vibe I heard from you (and maybe it’s wrong) is “I will do my thing, even if it’s obnoxious, even if it’s not polished, even if I’m to loud, even if I don’t have a unique hook to my one gaming channel in a soup of hundreds of thousands of competitors, but I will work on the mic”. You have to stop being in love with you on this project”
“Omg same same same. I just started listening to a bit fruity and I find myself getting so distracted by her cadence and vocal fry that I tune out of whatever they’re saying. Which is frustrating because I agree she’s incredibly intelligent with great insight but she’s just so hard to listen to. I know she thinks that’s misogynistic but as stated above, fry is a definite choice. It just sounds so unprofessional.”
“Ouch. You have a point. But I think I will grow overtime. The videos you saw were created in less than a 1 week period giving only 2-3 hrs of slow editing. You know i wanted to do two channels at a tume one in my first language and one in english. But its not very easy ,you see both works a little different from each other..”

“Yeah, agree with this. In my first video, it was soooo bad. I had to record the same line a million times, and even after all that, it was terrible. It gets better. It's just practice.”
“Ive been making videos for just over a year, ive had 30K views combined, I honestly think thats bad because I hate my voice and I feel that the big youtubers have the top level equipment that I cannot match! Am I just being silly? how do I get through the door? submitted by /u/ZookeepergameEven105 [link] [comments]”
“this is common advice you see everywhere and something I have experienced plenty of times across many platforms. With the rise of bot accounts, shorts farms, video farms, low effort A--I, youtube and other platforms definitely have more trust if you spend a week or so on a new account engaging like a real person.”
I rarely make it past 2 hours so I doubt that's the case but good to know
Yeah, I understand what you mean. I’m going to work on my pronunciation and speaking skills and see where I can get with it. I really appreciate the advice and perspective, thank…
“So you're using a shortcut to skip over a great opportunity to strengthen your language skills AND show your authentic self? Authenticity is what people are looking for. Let your true self, accent and all come through. It doesn't matter how much work you do on the other aspects of the videos. If you use AI on any, people will automatically question your integrity on the whole.”
“the point about AI voice is huge, nobody wants to sit through 20 mins of that no matter how good the topic is”
“We do have a JTD microphone. But cannot seem to get it to work properly. So now it's done with a lesser one. Does AI voices work against you? My voice kinda sucks.”
“Hmmm. Editing is hard!! I think I kind of nailed it. Voiceover could do better. Awww man!! Now I am scared. The video is 13min. Next one will be longer.”
“You could create a character. Get a wig, glasses or whatever. You won’t be the first. It hides your identity for the most part and allows you to continue as you were. This might placate your mother.”
“Is it possible to grow without talking? Sure, everything's possible. There's at least one 'Let's Player/analyis YouTuber' I'm a fan of (Skawo) who's never used a microphone in their life and only communicates through lines of text at the bottom of the screen. They have about 93K subs. Similarly, Pannenkoek2012 got a fair bit of popularity from his micless videos as well, even if he's been more willing to talk in videos after that long break. He's got about 134”
“Even my native language is also not English but yeah I do make both English and Hindi contents. Although majority of my viewers are from my Country roughly about 61% but my International viewers are those who give me maximum watch hours. And viewers from US, UK, Canada, Italy, Brazil, Spain, Uzbekistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Indonesia are some of the countries my International viewers are from.”
“Just use your voice. Even if you think it sounds bad, it's 10x better than ai and 100x better than reading text on the screen”
“im not american bro. And no, it doesn't apply to americans as much since there isn't as big of a culture of making youtube tutorials in America as much as it is in India. Doesn't help that India has like 5x the population of the US where software is a big thing in India, so anything tech related will be bombarded with Indian tutorials. And not to demean India, but it's a developing country with economic issues, so it's to be expected the average Indian would not have a good d”
“Just my view on this. It's a 90 second video, they're not asking you to tell your life story. They've asked two specific questions. Think about what you're going to say, rehearse it, maybe to a friend, and then record it. I've seen posts from people saying recruiters have asked them to do some ridiculous things, including literally incriminating themselves in one case. So I don't think that in this case, it's a big deal.”
“Hey cheer up my man! If you watch PewDiePie's very old videos, you'll see they also have little to no personality. It just naturally will come when you get more comfortable behind the mic.”
“Thanks for the reminder. It's a good perspective to have, and I'll keep that in mind 💔”
“Maybe it's something you could work on. I think that would be better than text to speak honestly. I get that it's tough. But I can think of a few channels I enjoy where they have a fairly thick accent”
“Unless I... upload a photo of my ID or take a video of myself. Does this not seem like AI training or am I? Is this conspiratorial thinking? To pin a comment submitted by /u/FelaLugosi [link] [comments]”
“Livestreaming is also a dead end, on youtube anyway from what I've seen. Regardless, anyone can talk over a game, the real algorithmic success is in saying something about a game in a scripted way. Follow your joy, but if you really want to be successful, that's the lane.”
“couldnt agree more, im doing a series of short 30 second videos on my youtube channel that odd recommened. im studying AI on skool so im killing 2 birds with one stone”
“Maybe getting better at typing as this is the only way we communicate. Also what an insult, is it supposed to hurt or something? Puzzles are fucking easy sweetie.”
“yeah this is the right take, theres an audience for literally every type of personality out there”
“Every single creator feels awkward, boring, and repetitive when they first start. Speaking fluidly while playing a game is a learned skill, not an innate talent. Overcoming the "I Have Nothing to Say" Feeling Shift from live commentary to post-commentary: Instead of talking while playing, record your gameplay silently and write a script or bullet points afterward. Voiceover allows unlimited retakes, eliminates stuttering, and makes pacing much tighter. Focus on a specific angle, not ju”
“I'm one of those people! I'm kinda tired of YouTubers who always scream nowadays; it's tiring.”
“I'm a little bit in the same boat. What I think is boring probably comes across as more so "low-energy" compared to others. Maybe a bit monotone in voice, so I'm trying to fix that too! That said, I think there is definitely people out there that will find comfort in that too. Good luck!”
“I haven't quit but I am also only 2 months in and doing this while having a full time job. I think one of the important things I have already learned is, if you start this journey with the only goal of making money from this, maybe you are doing it for the wrong reason to start with and that isnt going to be enough to motivate you through the grinding you may have to do sometimes to get to where you want to be. I dont think wanting monetization is a bad thing, I'd love to be monetized to”
“yeah, I think ur right, I'll probably just stop with the channel. thanks for the help!”
“Just rebrand your current channel, 100 subs aren't going to notice. Trust me I've rebranded even after getting monetized because I disliked my channels theme. There shouldn't be any negative effect. If you don't like the branding just change it no need to start a new channel.”
“If you just do random videos on random subjects, I don’t think you’ll build an audience, if I was you Id focus on one genre of videos that you want to do.”
