Good luck [re: Successful YouTuber Starting Over: Month 1 Update]
“As a game streamer, I mix in some reviews, but find they don't perform as well as specific topics. Too many people are reviewing games and nobody generally cares about these kind of opinions, too much. I would suggest covering topics that people need help with and that there's only poor alternatives being recommended. All my top gaming videos either have a very specific topic someone needs an answer to, or, the comedy I work into my show gets more view. Reviews are very mid when it comes”
“He'll be using the channel as a permanent archive channel going forward but will be uploading new content on his new channel (livestrider) & patron Original video: https://youtu.be/ONi3T7DrV9Y?is=Mt4A1-xdffzN2Cud (Source) submitted by /u/Heavy_Winter3901 [link] [comments]”
“Something similar happened to a few commentary channels I followed. They just vanish for months and then pop back with a 20 minute video explaining burnout. Sometimes the topics they cover just wear people down. Hope they're alright and just taking a breather.”
“The youtubers who focus on tactical play, And if there's any of you favorites that worth watching suggest them as well submitted by /u/Bagiiii86 [link] [comments]”
“League and games like it, your two pathways to viewership are either being really good (consistently Challenger) or being really entertaining, the latter being much, much harder than the former. If you can't fulfill either of those niches, it's going to be impossible to get anywhere no matter how good your videos are, at least when it comes to gameplay.”
“Idk if this is too niche or if anyone will remember him, but there’s this YouTuber Luna also AustinFFA who started making story times I think back in 2014-2015 and continues to this day. I watched him a decent bit from 2019-2021. It started off with cool believable teenage stories and whatnot. He has pretty consistently uploaded since then with the same type of story time content but I think he has really found himself in a pickle in the past few years. At first the stories were believable and n”
“I wouldn’t treat the old Rocket League growth as a command to go back to Rocket League if you already know you don’t want to build the channel around it. It’s still useful evidence, though. I’d ask what those successful videos were actually rewarding: the game itself, competitive moments, challenge-style ideas, your personality, or a particular way you packaged the videos. Then you can test whether one of those elements transfers into the variety channel you actually want to make. The goal doesn”
“Bro those stats are amazing?! I've been at it for just over a month... 23 subs. And just yesterday I decided to branch out my gaming content and start a new channel. Uploaded a couple of my videos on the new one... Got like 5 views. It's hard to realize that one isn't very interesting haha. Ah well. Guess it's too early to tell. I just find it hard to come up with ideas for content, but I really love learning editing and so I WANT to create more content/videos but yeah. You are r”
“This is my third Siege video where I attempt to follow beginner advice, let me know what you think :) I'm not asking for you to sub because I don't want subs that mean nothing. I just want to share my channel for anyone who wants a chill experience and to help us grow. https://youtu.be/fmtZPgG1Jsw?is=5eI9AybL8hT7pNon submitted by /u/thenameless-tn [link] [comments]”
“I don't worry about them anymore. On one of my channels, my last two videos have done well with retention and views, for the channel size, but oth lost 1 sub. I just laughed and moved on. There could be all kinds of reasons for it, but unless I can find out the exact reason, I'm not going to stress about it. Someone else made a comment and said, they are happy that people leave. They only want people that want to be there”
“solid advice tbh. the part about not lying to yourself but also not beating yourself up is a tough balance to hit”
“don't wait for a standout editing style. pick one repeatable series, like "what this game got right that modern games dropped," and make 5 videos before changing it.”
Just started doing youtube as well! Best of luck to you man!
“Firstlsy- you won't know until you try, and no-one on here can tell you for certain. There are certainly YouTubers who can hang multiple topics off their personality- but I would guess that it took them several years to build an audience, and they did it in a less crowded field than 2026. That said- if you keep the same format and structure to everything you talk about, then there is a consistency there which people may buy into, and if the people who watch your videos like your content then”
Thanks for your advice sir and i think i should my mental health first 🙂
“That’s a good strategy. What’s most important is that you want to keep going. Good luck!!”
“Wait... Let me get this straight. I'm interested in making Gamified Challenges, Game Play Videos, and me and family members clowning around and making skits, but I get shown Cop Videos and ghost videos, and I watch them. Then I get back to my work. I upload my videos which get small numbers, and youtube shows me more 911 videos and ghost videos... I try to refrain, but them, and tech shorts, etc. get me all the time. Is this part of the problem? What I'm watching?”
“I definitely hear everything that you're saying man. Just a heads-up on the "evergreen" content: be careful. YouTube will boot you from the YPP for 6 months of inactivity now (ie: no new uploads). I was a partner for 14 years, had 200,000 subs, and tens of millions of views. Didn't matter. Kicked out and fully demonetized for inactivity.”
yeah you should never force to like a hobby then it becomes a job haha
“I wouldn't worry too much about the change of game. People may fall off, but it also opens the door for a new persona. Instead of the guy being known for that game alone, your persona can switch to a broader niche. Yeah, that can be sketchy to do as well, but what other options are there? You're either stuck on one platform waiting for an update or new game, or taking a chance and hitting the overall genre altogether.”
“Tbf I was planning of uploading a break down about it in my extras channel, that's why I streamed my reaction but thank you for the suggestions 🙏”
“Sorry for the late reply. I posted a fully edited walkthrough that ranges from 5-20 hours of gameplay. The commentary one now has 7,400 subs, and the non-commentary one is now sitting at 1,050 subs, both monetized, with no copyright issues.”
“It's frustrating when you see more of people's potential than they see in themselves”
“First of all; congrats on the 3 videos that passed 100k, that's a huge accomplishment, one you should be proud of. Don't stop and don't ever stop believing you could make it just because you doubt yourself, I get it, we all feel like shit sometimes. I have 9 subs and 2 actual videos, they didn't do great even though I worked myself to the bone to get them done, but this early phase is an opportunity to learn and grow, maybe you could benefit from a similar mindset. If nobody else”
“It’s my first channel ever, I post Dead By Daylight content. I’m trying to get monetisation :) so I would love some support https://youtube.com/@hexwhisper-yt?si=nCYaNkDwPe47oZW4 submitted by /u/Bustarrow [link] [comments]”
“my one tip for you is upload 3 - 5 videos at the same time. Give People who find your videos something to binge on. Donny”
“A YouTuber named cjya roasted Frog Knight into the ground. F tier. Thumbnail and everything. He also clearly had a blast playing it, so honestly? Mission accomplished. Streamers and YouTubers are one of the biggest discovery engines for indie games. Videos like this, even the ones dunking on us, are how people find out our weird little projects exist. We'll take an "F tier thumbnail" with genuine laughter over silence any day. Serious thanks to cjya for actually spending time with”
“Hey man, if you want people reaching out through DM you might have to change some settings as you are currently unavailable for following and messaging, just thought I’d let you know 😉”
“Focus less on gameplay and more on making content. You're trying to be a content creator, not a professional gamer.”

“Then why big creators like Mr Beast, says that after creating 100 videos we will only talk on 101th video ? Like they are also advicing to put out volume and improve your every video.”
“Ok, will do, thank you! But I just remembered would the creation of a vods chanel be ok since I have 31 subs?”
“Politely disagree with the 40+ minute Videos, thats basically just taste. But I completely agree on the short thing. Like give me the intro and the info and done. I watch some Game People and it annoys me to high heaven when they do this "Did you know that x info from this charakter is in plain sight the whole time...? Here are 5 infos about x that you probably never realised [....]" yap, before comming to the point. Bonuspoints if they sound like its the most dramatic thing ever and t”
“I am a small gaming channel at 52 subs. What do you see as the fastest way to get to 500 and how did you get past the newtuber ditch”
“Yeah depends on the voice and cadence, some I could listen for hours but others I like how they take their time in talking and not always feel the need to talk every second. I'm like that for my videos, but I mostly script a voice over for what I do but I plan on when to stay silent or when I need to talk”
“Hey man! I've been trying to help this streamer I found 8 days ago on his first stream ever become bigger. We've been through ups and downs including bots (which we removed) and trollers who mess the whole stream up. We've been using Streamelements and anything we can find to help the streams grow. We've streamed over 3 hours a day, got affiliate on the fourth day, which was the lowest you possibly can get it and have gotten 45 bits and a sub in just that one week. I was wonderin”
“Thank you so much , there's been so many great pieces of advice here. You ain't wrong , and I love the idea of creating a repeatable series to just start, I do think I'm really trying to get those first videos to be perfect. I'm going to actually try something repeate with lower pressure to get myself going , and build momentum there.”
“My channel is sim racing and motorsports and basically both keep me mentally sane so its hard not to enjoy the process and stay consistent. Pick somethin you enjoy!”
“Nobody is watching full game streams from unknown streamers. That’s something you can get away with once you’ve already built a following. He’d be best to make compilations of his best moments, stick those together in a 10-15 min montage and build a following that way. Once you actually have a decent following, then you can live stream the games and get decent views on them WHILE also getting clips for more highlights/montages”

“I definitely appreciate all the comments and time youve taken to write them and its given me a lot of food for thought today for sure. I will likely rethink some parts of my plan and how I want to go ahead with things :) thanks again!”
“I’ve been telling my community that we were gonna do a 100 sub special, about 133 subs ago because it happened too fast for me to make a video about, but I just got done scripting a 200 sub video about the Shining, so hopefully that will make up for it.”
“I'm just starting out, like a month and a half in of making lets plays. I've gotten some good feedback on my editing and my energy on camera which has been great as I want my channel and content to kinda center around that. I'm missing my niche though... I want it to be a channel where I play games I've never played before, right now its Dead Space. BUT I have this urge to do one off games, like I made one on a golf game demo I found interesting and it was fun since I teach golf”
“Well, ludwig who's a well established youtuber says its hard to be consistent, its very ambitious to make sure neither channel falls off. He has 3 channels A vod channel unedited from his streams A main channel for everything and anything that he has the editors working on A second channel for interesting stuff but not as good as the main channel stuff but doesn't want to waste resources editing it Ludwig does IRL and gaming content, but thats because his personality matches it and I wan”
