“I have 2 questions Is obsidian just like web development and all are just like css? More analogy and explanations are welcomed Is making timeline like this possible and easy? If yes guide me where to start TIA”
“Graph. [re: What are some features in Obsidian that everyone seems to like but you just don't get it?]”
“Have a look at this. I'm sure it can be morphed to fit your needs. https://obsidianttrpgtutorials.com/Obsidian+TTRPG+Tutorials/Obsidian+TTRPG+Tutorials”
Several Obsidian users are requesting guidance on how to create the graph visualizations seen in other users' vaults. They specifically seek a GitHub repository or detailed instructions to replicate these visual representations within their own setups, indicating a desire for more accessible and understandable graph creation tools.

“I made something similar but not 3d and inside obsidian [re: I'm walking through my Obsidian vault right now in the form of a magical library. Every file's a book. Cool idea?]”

“The graph is what first drew me to Obsidian, and I thought it would be really cool, but the Markdown functionality and the customization are what kept me here. The graph serves no functional purpose for me. However, as a project manager, Daily Notes is great. I have it linked to my Kanban board for my major projects, and it keeps me on track. I also use it as an opportunity to journal, which helps me organize my thoughts and process my emotions.”
“I feel the same way about the graph. The only time I see it and go ooooh is 1) Then I open a new vault for the first time. Or 2) When some one else shows off theirs. As for daily notes, I use them all of the time at work. I use them to track what I worked on, what I plan to work on, training, meetings I have, etc. They come in real handy. At home, not so much.”

“For example, I have many NPCs that are only present in one location, so it makes sense to write their sections as subheaders there. Each NPC might be in multiple factions. I'd like to be able to look at the graph of this to easily see who is in which subset of factions, and which factions have strong connections in terms of co-membership.”
“I'd like to see the code to this if you put it somewhere like github, Interested in generating a custom resolution/aspect ratio”
“I might have misunderstood something, but the map isn't being created. The "Create Map" button is literally inactive; the "Create Token" function only works in a small area at the top of the button.”
I think it’s just a matter of time. I should be ready now
The Obsidian discord has a wealth of useful stuff like this
“Dump everything into one vault! What fascinates me is those who are able to manipulate the graph view into the artistic and symmetrical shapes sometimes shown! 😉”
“Honestly I'm just super curious on how you guys end up with such complex graph views. They are BEAUTIFUL, but just how? How do you keep everything so connected? I started using obsidian like a month ago and my graphs feel like a balding man's hair compared to your lion's mane. Of course I'm joking, I don't expect mine to be that full, that quickly. But it made me think: how do you guys organize your notes in a way that everything connects somehow? submitted by /u/”
“Hope this works for you as intended: https://github.com/luke321/vault-graph/releases/tag/2.5.0”
“It really does have that sleek look! Excited to see how it all works with the new features.”

“Omg, can’t waiting for this plugin!it seems we are using quite different apps lol”
“This looks absolutely incredible. As someone who just started obsidian not too long ago, could you tell me some tips ? How do you create an atlas, is it a note or a file ? How to you add icons to notes and files ? How do you add gifs ? Is it possible to have the side bar at the right of the wiki template ? Finally, do you have some tip to create vaults ? Sorry for all theses questions and thank you if you're able to help me.”
Not quite like that. Maybe I should fill my stuff up some more
“I would definitely love to see any developments you make, whenever you do! I don't know much about CSS so I have no idea what's possible.”
I noticed there seem to have no orphan notes? Am I right?
“I been using obisidan for 2 years But I saw this comment and thought it's a very good one for begginers, https://www.reddit.com/r/ObsidianMD/s/sJhdoleYnu It just explains a lot, just don't forget it's his way, you can do otherwise if you don't like it”
“been using obsidian heavily for work and personal stuff. this is what the graph looks like. curious what other people's graphs look like, are yours more sprawling or tighter? what are you tracking? submitted by /u/jonntanny [link] [comments]”
“Thanks! It is late here now but if you want I can throw the snipped and a little guide on a github repo tomorrow. It is a single snippet, and uses the usual callout markdown”
“Beautiful. I was looking over the timeline plugins literally just this afternoon.”
“Wouldn’t it be easier if you put the link in your original post along the link to the plugin? And saying that you used claude to develop it so people stop asking? Just my 2 cents. Nice project regardless”
“Fair enough - it's shared properly now, in the community directory: https://community.obsidian.md/plugins/vault-graph”
“This is the first time I have ever seen one of these in this sub and thought "holy crap, I would actually love to use this" and I can see that everyone else is thinking the same thing. PLEASE spill the beans on this one and give us the walkthrough on how to make one for ourselves, lol”
Omg this is great! Any possibility of letting us know how?👀
“How did you do that ? Did you made your own plugin? Please make a github page or a link to get it, it's very cool”
“OMG this looks amazing! Any chance you could make this available as a Community Plugin? I'd love to try it!”
“I dream about a more structured graph view like this every night so I can use it to navigate files and folders.”
“ok so ive been running claude with a second brain for about two months now. its an obsidian vault where it keeps every decision, project log, bugs we squashed... everything. it named itself Fathom. actually really useful i asked if we could make the graph view look cooler.. it got wild dude. fathom read every note and link in the vault and rendered the whole thing as a rotating 3D galaxy. 120 notes became stars.. 400+ links became threads of light... my biggest file (131k characters of decisions”
“This is such cool work, congratss. If you’re willing to share, I’d loge to know how you made the graphs. I haven’t really found graphs that speak to me and this one is * chef’s kiss\ *”
