“Good morning everyone, Currently trying to survive this SoCal Heat wave when my AC decided to stop blowing cold air and the property management company has been dragging their feet to get a technician out here. The blower motor is working when the thermostat is set to cool but…”

“Hi all, Just want to tell you my experience living in an apartment owned / managed (not sure if they own the complex but pretty sure they do) by RPM Living - thirty days now without central air. Thirty days. I called 311 the other day and had an inspector here yesterday and…”

“Is there any redneck way to fix this just for a few days? It’s Sunday so the office won’t even be open to get maintenance and it’s still gonna be 90 degrees outside today. Literally the worst possible timing.”

Several tenants are experiencing difficulty contacting apartment complex maintenance, particularly when their air conditioning units fail. This leads to discomfort and frustration, with some considering purchasing temporary solutions like window units due to the lack of response.

Thirty days. I called 311 the other day and had an inspector here yesterday and while she couldn’t tell me outright, she heavily implied that I’m not the only person dealing with this. If you’re looking for an apartment, do NOT go with RPM LIVING. They are awful. I emailed the CEO and he’s too important”

“I live in a 2 bedroom apartment and the ac stopped working correctly in the beginning of August and we’ve sent out multiple maintenance requests since then, they’ve came out once looked at it and never came back again. Is there anything I can do myself? For reference it’s about 85-92 degrees in the apartment until the sun goes down then it gets down to about 79 degrees. submitted by /u/TechnicalPromise3650 [link] [comments]”

“our central unit stopped cooling this week and it is literally in the high 80s in the house as per our thermostat I feel your pain! My central air died over two weeks ago. Waiting for my landlord to replace it. I'm in the Midwest, and we've had record hot summers here two years in a row. My house is also in the 80s with no AC. It was 90 in here the other day. It's absolutely miserable. I haven't had a monthly electric bill less than $300-$400 in a long time.”

“Hi. I’m looking for info about basic maintenance practices for HVAC units (I don’t know if that’s the correct term). I’ve rented an apartment with central air for nearly 10 years, and the only maintenance ever done is filter changes twice per year. Is this typical for expected maintenance over a 10 year period? Is there something else that should be done beyond filter changes that falls under the “basic maintenance” requirements? The air ducts have never been cleaned. My apartment is in a comple”

“AC went out last night. Going to be 88 and humid today. No emergency maintenance number at the complex I’m at. Filled out maintenance form this morning but no response couple hours later. Am I able to get legally reimbursed if I have to buy a window unit for the weekend? Really irritated. submitted by /u/Odd_Apricot_3402 [link] [comments]”
