“The channel playbackzach6814 came up when i searched the name and it says in their bio that that was their old channel, the mountaindew channel was probably taken down or hidden on december 1st 2025 because on socialblade it says they lost 69,426 views on…”

“Does this retroactively affect existing members of the Partner Programme? I hope not...”
“At face value this looks horrible, but i think this is just a correction that was a long time coming. Youtube partner program came out in Dec 2007. The highest subscribed channel at the time? Fred lmao. 2012 they released it publicly 2018 they added the 1000sub/4000 hours rule, and its been largely unchanged since then In 2018 Pewdiepie was still the number 1 channel at around 80million This is youtube making a proper correction, this change is gonna clear up a lot of slop/artificial content. Wh”

“I had an account and uploaded 1 video when YouTube first started. I will probably be one of the OG now if I continued with it. But it was a different time. Video quality, sound quality were terrible. I am now 45, and I started a YouTube channel about 5 months ago. Currently with 178 subscribers and I'm very happy with that.”

“Yeah I'm not 100% on what happened, but I thought it was sold and that triggered the huge change in the biz, leading up to a couple big fuckups like them giving away that prototype waterblock. The casual snacking while doing the podcast thing wanshow or w.e its called isnt very professional, and there was the jet reveal that didnt seem to land well, though obviously he wants to show off his new toy and creating content is their biz so of course they are going to make a vid on it. I dont hate”
“The subscribers only thing is incredibly foolish but I don't care. Why? Because when a content creator makes it so that only their subscribers can comment they are drastically lowering their chances of getting a sub. Remember every single comment ( good or bad) boosts your views. I don't even stop to see what the video or stream is, and I'm sure I'm not unique in that.”
“Yeah so these are two completely different videos. Similar idea sure but completely transformed. This is like complaining Sprite stole Mountain Dew's idea for soda.”
“Really? I wasn't using much social media back then, idk what year the games feature happened.”
