“Ive paid for Premium since the day it was released, and Ive paid for the Family Premium package for years now. My 2 sons, who dont live with me full time, are under that account. And because they dont live with me 100% of the time, they officially cant use our family plan. 😤 I…”

“I spoke to Google and found the fix (at least in my situation). Google enforce a 10 devices cap signed in to YouTube in a year. You'll start getting this "too many devices streaming error" if you hit this cap. With smart TVs, tablets, laptops, etc. it's very easy to reach 10…”

“I mostly watch YouTube on my TV through Roku and I can add the rest of my family as different users so we each get fed different content. Also, premium works across every device you run YouTube on so it’s A LOT easier on me not having to be the IT support when someone’s YouTube…”

And because they dont live with me 100% of the time, they officially cant use our family plan. 😤 I pay for 6 accounts, not based on location, but for the use of Premium by 6 family members. I have, for the first time in almost a decade, cancelled YouTube Premium. Goodbye Youtube 👋😡 submitted by /u/APokemo”

As long as they’re logged in, it just works.”

“There are a lot of us who majority watch YT on their TV sets (using a Roku Ultra in my case). Google finally sent me "the email" I had been hearing about here with Google removing family plan members that weren't within the same HOUSE. If everyone is in the same house, I don't NEED the family plan! 🙄 My wife visits her grand daughter every now and then and my daughter lives in S.C., I was showing her videos on investing and stock trading etc. They were both cut off from my fam”

“Nope. I have my family on it so even at the current price it would average out to $5 per person. Youtube premium is the last streaming service I would cancel.”

“I think you can only change "family" one a year. Once the trial runs out you'll only be able to do it once more.”

“YouTube stopped my premium family because I don't live at my dad, he owns the subscription. Its really bad that they punish people for have divorced parents even when im at my dads 2 days of the week. I even appealed and told them my parents are divorced they straight up did not give a f.... Time to morphe everything into a better youtube I guess... submitted by /u/StevenB0ss [link] [comments]”

“You can also just add background play for free with an add on (depending on your browser).”

“Been getting those for months. As a freeloader off my friend's sub (lol), I haven't given it a second thought because I also run uBlock. If it ever messes with how I watch on my phone, I'll fix it then but otherwise, fuck 'em lol.”

“On your phone just get YouTube ReVanced. On your Google TV get SmartTube. On Roku get PlayLet. All of them do the exact same thing as YouTube premium with a lot more features, for zero cost.”

“Well unfortunately for you its not going to stop those people that make the videos you like to watch want to get paid so they take promotions... take them away and you arent going to get videos”

“Trying to be be "good" just gets you treated like trash. Use ublock and Firefox. Save some money from these greed demons.”

“So if I have a downloaded video on my phone, I can still watch a video on my TV?”
