“Is there a way to turn it off. Why is it on every video old and new? I went back to my channel after two months auto chapter on one video, it looks they used ai to the scrap the audio to get the titles.”

Users express dissatisfaction with YouTube's new AI-generated video summaries, finding them clickbaity and unhelpful. Some miss previous features or find the current summaries misleading.

Just almost all of it, fully generated AI videos ... Is anyone out there real anymore? submitted by /u/RamjetX [link] [comments]”

“Am I going crazy or did YouTube start ai generating chapters in mass now? I feel like every other video that I watch that doesn't have proper manual chapters in it now has really shitty ai chapters that either add no substance to the video by splitting it into random bits that make little sense or just straight up spoil what's going to happen in a video. I also think YouTube may be forcing them on older videos because I see them on like 4-5 year old videos and I am quite sure that they d”

“In the video he says "You think if I go on Rust someone will say a slur?" (presumably reacting to deleted clip, keeping his reaction afterwards in) and THATS IT, but the AI decided that needs an entire dedicated chapter in the video titled "Slur discussion". The chapters only get in the way of everything and add basically zero value other than being occasionally funny cause 'haha AI stoopid' submitted by /u/Diamon_Blade [link] [comments]”

“Can YouTube please add a filter to weed out all the AI content, including videos where AI scripts are being read by real human beings? I hear that there are fairly accurate tools that could weed out scripts that are written by AI. They may not be 100% correct, but weeding these out, along with people who reuse other peoples content would sure make YouTube more watchable. Label them all and let the viewers decide whether they want to see and hear this drivel. submitted by /u/Atel288 [”

“There will most likely be an extension to do so. But given a majority of people use AI and dont mind AI there is little reason for Youtube to implement such a feature. So I wouldn't hope for it [re: YouTube is now prominently labeling AI generated content (but only once clicked). So when will they allow us to block these from showing up on the home page, search, or recommended?]”

r/youtube9d ago

“You may or may not know this, but when you're recommended a video, you can tell YouTube you're not interested in it. Then you can tell them why, and from there you have two options: I don't like the video, or I've already seen the video And I like that it's just those two. I wish there were more options for some edge cases but it's good that it covers most bases with just those two options. However, imagine they add a third option: "The video uses AI." Now, imag”

“Is it just me, or has YouTube (and basically every other platform) turned into 24/7 AI central? News, vibecoding, experiments, hot takes, people hating it, people loving it.. it's LITERALLY EVERYWHERE 💢!! look don't get me wrong, I'm a developer and a student, so I actually use AI daily to help with my work and studies! At first, I was indeed hyped to learn more and more about it, but my feed has hit a breaking point where everything is tied to AI.. every SINGLE day, no, every sing”

“Has anyone recently noticed these AI generated chapters in videos? If you look at longer videos on inactive channels, you can see chapters that look like they were made by an AI on certain parts of the video, while i do like this idea, it causes major problems like timings and what the chapter is actually about. What are your thoughts on this? submitted by /u/Joseph-tx [link] [comments]”

r/youtube10d ago

“No. Let me watch the video, and if i want to skip something, i'll do it myself. The thing about the loud parts has potential, though. [re: If YouTube added the ability to auto skip parts of a video, would that be a good idea for a feature?]”

r/youtube11d ago

“There are a few creators I'd watch, even some that I was subscribed to, who started doing it, so I don't watch them anymore. The only channel that seemed to embrace no AI was Scary Interesting, and they were smart to put a disclaimer at the beginning of their videos.”

r/youtube11d ago

“Hell no! I don't use AI in any part of my videos and I never will. I would not do something so stupid. My audience is small but they trust me, it goes against everything I stand for, and how can I build skills and improve my work if I let AI do it.”

“Chapters are applied on all videos retroactively regardless of whether they chose to have them or not. They're not even accurate in some cases. Compilation videos are apparently too hard for the A.I. to deal with. Anytime you need to scroll through a video, they're there, anytime you go down even below that to read the description, they're right there. It is imposing them, and I think that's a major problem. I think it should be a voluntary choice that a creator has full control”

r/youtube16d ago

“With the AI usage that's been overly used here, I think they should rename this to "AI-Tube". From auto-dubbing videos to auto-translating subtitles, and even auto-generating chapters when the creators did not want to, but they were unaware that those are enabled. It is a platform in name only now. The YouTube that used to have lots of speech freedom, now that slogan is no more. submitted by /u/KevinAbillGaming [link] [comments]”

“I guess YouTube secretly rolled out a feature automatically making chapters for videos. I don’t mind that, I assume there’s an option to remove them, but they added them to videos uploaded BEFORE the feature was added. “First thing I'm paying attention to nowadays when I click on a video (the ones without creators showing their faces like some short documentaries) is if the narrator's voice is real and whether the script sounds like something chatgpt would write and I'm so sick of it already 🙄 I don't want to watch that stuff and its trash content imo, also just lazy and untrustworthy. And as if that wasn't enough 90% of comments on the site are/look like bots. The internet is just going to”

“I legit was watching a 5 minute comedy video and the autogenerated chapters were trying to explain the joke. This is so fucking stupid, who thought this would be useful to anyone? Why isn't it OPT IN? I swear to God the people in charge of this platform should be castrated”

“So Youtube got a new update or something and now on like 90% of every video there's stupid AI generated chapters that the creator did not add, and they PISS ME OFF, the creator can probably remove them, but is there any way I can remove them??????? they jsut piss me off submitted by /u/Used-Bee928 [link] [comments]”

r/youtube18d ago

“They... could've implemented this so much more quieter to be honest. Yeah yeah, AI bad, I agree, but like... this is just the search bar. They made a secondary search bar for AI only. They could've just... put it in the old search bar??? For all intents and purposes, regardless of "AI bad," this is a stupid implementation.”

“All those words and not a single capital letter? Impressive. Is this some kind of prompt for chat gpt to make your text look less generated?”

“OMG 😱. I actually watched his video. It's terrible what yt is doing with this incapable automated AI algorithm system they're doing. It's just not fit for the job. They need human oversight and intervention for this system. I'm sorry that's happened to him and others. I almost feel like they're doing this intentionally.”

“The thing is that all you describe is EXACTLY what I am talking about. It is a result of not having a basic understanding of a tool, it's limitations and how to properly use it . And it's not even about writing a proper prompt. Wild hallucinations are basically not a thing anymore, at least for the past year. Every time I hear about hallucinations it's always the same story: People use AI in "Instant" mode. And it explains everything. How can AI produce correct information”
