“I drive a 2018 Ford Escape SEL and it’s got the the 1.5L EcoBoost turbocharged 4-cylinder engine. “My escape only has 12,500 miles on it and this sound on startup is new. The ticking sound stays around while driving but not as aggressive. Ford dealer told me it’s the direct injection and high pressure fuel pump. Would that start making these noises now? I’ve used fuel treatment since I got the car. “I have this persistent P1682 on this car. The fuses, relays, and wires are good. Im getting battery voltage at the relay where it needs to be. I have noticed that it seems to be temperature related.
