“Hello network, I am in the process of buying my first appartment. This is the state of the floor. The kitchen and bathroom will receive tiles for the floor. Is it worth saving? Any tips on how to do it? submitted by /u/Maleficent-Money2898 [link] [comments]”

“In the process of getting our bathroom done. Ordered these tiles, checked them before installation and all seemed fine. As you can see in the picture with tile spacers there’s a subtle difference in some tiles visible but this was not noted at the time by our fitter. This has become much more obvious since grouting, it’s as though some are a matt finish and others more satin so appear cleaner and more white. Tile company states they can’t refund once installed, but problem was only apparent afte”
“The company we hired to install engineered hardwood floors in our house has pushed off install multiple times. Is this normal or should we request new product be ordered? Below are the details: - slab on grade house - wood was delivered on September 10 so has been at our house over two weeks - they ripped up our old floors September 14 and said the slab had some moisture so we agreed to put down a moisture barrier. - moisture barrier installed on September 16 - we have had humidity in the house”
“We bought a new build in 2022 and over the past year our tile has started lifting throughout the house. Unfortunately, this seems to be a neighborhood-wide issue, at least 8 other homeowners are dealing with the same thing. After about 7 months of waiting while the builder figured out how to address it, they’ve agreed to replace our flooring. We basically have two choices: 1.) Have the exact same tile installed again. 2.) Switch to RevWood Select that they’re currently installing in another new”
“Is tile too heavy to use on bathroom floors of 1960s pier and beam homes? Just trying to figure out my options for our diy remodel to replace cheap warped laminate. Thank you submitted by /u/Current-Pie5633 [link] [comments]”

“Some context: the apartment is in the oldtown which is pain in the ass to renovate as everything is super uneven (floors, walls, etc.). We just got the new tiles installed and, in general, I love them. But I hate how they are not aligned with the arch border/entrance - squares are cut into triangles and even those triangles are in different sizes. And yeah, even if I love checkered floors, I agree that our choice in the first place wasn't the smartest to use them here. And I'm angry at m”

“I just took up some square linoleum like tiles off my bathroom floor. I used a hair dryer to heat them up to remove. Underneath is luan. The tiles were glued down so the luan is covered with a thin layer of clear adhesive. I would like to put down ceramic tile. My questions are: 1.Can I just put mortar on top of this glue? 2. If not, how do I remove the glue? These were not peel and stick tiles, it's actual very sticky glue that was troweled on very thin. submitted by /u/Courierd”
“I'm currently in the market for new flooring in my sunroom and am really interested in installing a fun tile. Also, based on what I've researched, it sounds like porcelain tiles might be the best option for me. The sunroom is attached to the main house and is insulted/temperature controlled, but the room is almost all windows so it does tend to get a littler cooler/hotter than the rest of the house. I live in the SE where it's humid. If you have porcelain tiles - do you love them? Ha”

“Hi all! I recently moved into a new apartment, and the bathroom tiles look so bad. I’m not really an expert on tile installation, but it sort of looks like someone caulked over the grout in between the tiles and it’s coming off in bits. I know it’s unlikely to get this looking perfect, but I’ve tried several methods to clean this area, and none seem to be effective. So far Ive tried vinegar, dish soap, industrial degreaser, and a magic eraser; the magic eraser seemed the most effective of all of”
“Hi everyone, I’m considering Par-ky engineered parquet flooring for my house and I’d really appreciate some real-life experiences before making the decision. If anyone here has Par-ky flooring, especially with underfloor heating, I’d love to know: How do you find the overall quality? How well has it held up over time? Any problems with scratching, dents, joints opening, warping, etc.? Does it work well with underfloor heating? Has anyone had it installed for several years already? I’m mainly int”

“Hi there, We had to removed some bathroom tiles for some fix it repairs and our contractor said these bathroom tiles were not installed correctly and the builder skimped on half the work by just laying down the tiles. Please advise on how bad this is and if we need to now check all our bathrooms.
