“Look at this comment. They literally said the quiet part out loud: "I paid for the service of the driver picking me up, and dropping me off. That’s all included in the fee. Why should I give you bonus dollars for something I already paid in full for?" If 80% of riders have…”

“This happened in Melbourne, Australia. The driver refused to pick me up because I was heading west when he wanted to head east. He tried to make me cancel and pay the fee.”
Drivers are losing money due to passengers who miss turns, get angry, or otherwise cause drivers to cancel trips. One driver was upset when a passenger missed the turn and then got mad about it, resulting in a cancellation.

“Drove almost 3 miles to hotel destination which I normally don't like to take because it's a long distance pickup. As I pull in and approach the main entrance to pick up customer , he cancels it the last second because the shuttle showed up that was going to take him to the sister hotel , he was going to. So bing... cancelation screen... and 0 cancelation fee given. So riders can now cancel as you're pulling up and with 0 repercussions??? submitted by /u/bhbest [link] ”

Why should I give you bonus dollars for something I already paid in full for?" If 80% of riders have this exact mindset—that a tip isn't deserved regardless of whether you go above and beyond or not—why is any driver burning their own money and energy on hospitality? Every time you load heavy suitcases, hand o”

“Combine the trip to PNC with another stop you need make in the same direction. If you search, you can find many more complaints about 5/3 than PNC.”
“I got a reservation for a 150 mile trip. It paid something like $146 (so not $1/mile technically but I usually consider that close enough). The rider ended up cancelling it at the last minute (supposedly) but figuring it up, I made more money staying in town. It would have taken 300 miles worth of gas round trip. For the trip back I mostly won't work in those areas. For my car which gets about 35 mpg it would be about 8.5 gallons of gas. That would be about $45 in gas. So of that $146, I wou”
“As soon as I accepted the ride. They're complaining that I'm too far from them and that theyre going to be late for work. I told them theyre free to cancel without it charging them. And therefore find a driver closer. Insisted that I cancel which was not happening, but after they had opened the chatbox with that message, I knew I wasnt doing this ride anyways as completing the ride with this passenger could have resulted in a false rating, accusation, or simply an unpleasant ride. I ende”
“I got an airport ride around 3:30 this morning. It was $5 for 5 miles, but I usually get more tips on airport runs, so I took it and hoped for the best. Man, was I sorry. I pull up to the address and this woman rolls two suitcases out to the curb and goes back inside. Two minutes later she comes back out and demands to know why I haven’t loaded her bags. I told her I couldn’t help with the luggage and she would need to load it herself. (At least I opened the trunk remotely?) This obviously pisse”
“Is it because it will reduce the fare? Or same fare but longer time/ distance? submitted by /u/Fit_Law_9195 [link] [comments]”
“I hate reservations with a passion because basically the Rider is saying first and foremost. Their time is way more important than yours. And they know that they have a much longer wait time once you get there than the standard ride. One day, I rolled up on a reservation and got the message from the Rider that they would be out 10 minutes (the free limit) after the schedule pick up time. Needless to say cancel bye!!! submitted by /u/MaximumIntroduction8 [link] [comments]”
“Two minute grace period. Fuck you. You should two minutes MAX. Not two free minutes before the real timer starts. Anyway, then it goes on to give five extra minutes. There's literally no reason it should take a total of SEVEN FUCKING MINUTES to get your lazy ass to the fucking car. Get the fuck in, we got places to be. You asked me to be here for you, you paid for the ride, fucking get in. Oh, ans apparently when it's busy, they get eight minutes. In addition to the freebie two minutes.”
