Several renters are concerned about cleaning difficult stains on rental properties, including cat spray and rust. They worry about potential damage deposits or landlord repercussions if they can't effectively remove the marks. The problem is compounded by limited access to professional cleaning services.

It seems like their finisher or something is messed up and is causing these. I am not sure what the best way to get rid of this is? Any pointers? I am deciding whether to renew by lease this week. I don’t use anything other bona floor cleaner. The flooring is supposed to be Kronoswiss Plank flooring sub”
“So I’m in a bit of a pickle, I’m moving out in a month and I’m trying to save my room deposit. The mold has been on the vinyl floor for around 2 months, I’ve tried using: Hg mold remover Oxygen bleach Flash bleach spray And it doesn’t seem to be getting better, I’ve even tried to use a toothbrush to scrub the floor after applying the stuff above and it doesn’t even seem to be getting better. If any one has any ideas I would be super grateful! submitted by /u/Academic_Painting417 [lin”
“Renter and have stained the countertop. I got a draining mat from KMart and put it under the drying rack. When cleaning underneath after a week or so the colour and pattern has transferred onto the countertop. The ‘stain’ seams to be smooth with the countertop finish. I assume the counter is solidsurface product. Are there any options as a renter or am I f’d and should say bye bye to our deposit? The mat in question which ironically boasts to protect countertops: https://www.victoriasbasement.co”
“Hi ! Yesterday I came home from holiday to these stains on my kitchen floor. My girlfriend said she used window cleaner, spilled some on the floor and forgot to wipe the residue. When I went to clean it up today I realised this was def not residue because it would not come off, it almost looks like the floor has been bleached. I am wondering if there is any way to fix it. I only tried scrubbing with a cloth and some universal cleaner because i am scarred of creating more damage. The floor is som”

“I sprayed down a 7th gen disinfecting cleaner and used a push mop to clean this linoleum tile floor. But it would appear the spots with the initial spray have etched through the surface finish in a bad splotchy way. Is there any way to fix this? submitted by /u/SheikahSaviour [link] [comments]”
“I’ve had a terracotta pot plant sitting on my floor for a few months and didn’t realise it had caused this mark. I live in a rental so am curious what low risk solutions I could try to avoid losing some of my deposit when I leave submitted by /u/Alternative_Space924 [link] [comments]”
“Hi yesterday our IKEA high chair for some reason let out a bunch of rusty water which immediately caused stains on the wooden floor. we tried wood cleaner, baking soda paste and dry baking soda without much success. what can we do here? submitted by /u/No_Cantaloupe938 [link] [comments]”
“Any advice or products on how to treat a stain that randomly popped up in my kitchen would be welcomed and appreciated. I live in an apartment and am now worried about my security deposit. It’s much more prominent in-person, especially when the high hats are on. It’s most likely from cooking, like grease but also could be from a cat. Although its origin is very strange because it randomly appeared and I don’t remember it happening. I’m very particular about cleaning. Any products to try? So far”
“I think the counter is quartz but I am not sure. This is a rental apartment. I got it to lift with dish soap and a rag, but the darker parts aren’t budging. How should I proceed? Many thanks :) submitted by /u/Elegant-Cap-6959 [link] [comments]”
“The flooring is vinyl/linoleum in the bathroom, about 30cm away from the sink. There aren’t any gaps in the flooring nearby and it doesn’t feel damp. The area is not covered regularly eg by a mat or plant pot. The stains are a light brown colour and not raised or textured, they don’t scrape off. I’ve tried lemon juice, baking soda and vinegar, mould remover spray and even dabs of bleach. We don’t use products like fake tan or hair dye, the only product used in this area is toothpaste/water and s”
“One of my neutered cats has decided to spray walls, doors, and furniture. He’s been to the vet who said it’s behavioral and checked his health and everything. I got a black light and unfortunately have discovered he’s sprayed multiple places. The number of places he’s sprayed is a lot and I’m looking for the fastest way to lightly scrub with enzyme cleaner. Right now, I’m spraying the enzyme cleaner and letting it sit for a few minutes and then washing with a bit of dawn soap. There’s wall paint”
