Users are experiencing issues with 3D printer supports detaching or failing to properly support overhanging sections of prints, resulting in structural defects and print failures. This is linked to machine calibration and settings adjustments.

“Looks like the top/bottom layer doesn’t bond to the body well? Not sure what’s happening here tbh but it’s happened to basically anything that I print that is box shaped. In this event it’s a garage and I believe that on the inside this is happening and sagging, this catching the door to prevent it from closing. Any help is appreciated. Had a lot of progress on the print, so I saved it with a little… ingenuity. The more you look at it, the worse it gets. Part completed 👍 submitted by /u/Luck_Cool [link] [comments]”

Every time I try print this thing it hangs up right at the last moment. My filament is dry, I have tried Arachne and original walls, I’ve tried reducing the overhang to even 45deg by making it a diamond, also tried a cylinder and hexagon, and it’s still not working. “No print-quality image; I am in lecture rn, sadly, but will get one. Whenever I try to print with PVA for supports (on a PLA hollow sphere, so I need PVA), I get an issue with poor initial and layer adhesion, but I am confused. Some guides say to print with a lower nozzle temp; some people on Reddit say to increase the nozzle temp. What should I do? PVA is dried and heated to 40 °C, so there is no humidity issue (no sign of bubbling and no hissing) Wouldn't increasing the temp make it too &#”

“As title suggests, a lot of my prints that require supports usually struggle with this initial first layer after coming from a supports. I usually stick to default profiles when I print, and I havent ever messed with any of my axis settings or anything like that. Printing on a P1S on Bambu Black PLA, default temps (I believe 220) sliced on Bambu studios I had removed all of the supports before taking any pictures, but this is the BOTTOM of the print, where the supports actually met the object. “Hey guys, I'm trying to print a plane for a friend. He gave me the STL-file and I had nothing but trouble with it, because most parts are hanging in the air and essentially the whole thing had to be printed on supports, which made for some really ugly surface on the bottom of the model (pic 1) I could solve most of my problems by cutting the plane in half and print it that way (pic 2). Unfortunately, now I encountered some strange behaviour and I don't know how to tackle it. The rear win”

I tried lowering the volumetric flow a bit and increased temps from 220c to 230c, which I did because the TPU was lacking layer adhesion in prints not included here.
