Many users are experiencing difficulties with filament issues like stringing, warping, and layer variation. These problems often arise with specific materials (TPU) or printer models (Bambu A1), leading to frustration and troubleshooting efforts involving temperature adjustments, retraction settings, and slicer configurations.

“Suddenly the first layer on our prints are just really bad. I have tried calibrating and new filament, and nothing is helping. We are using our .2 nozzle because of the high detail this coin has. Any insight would be appreciated. submitted by /u/binaryatlas1978 [link]…”

“First time trying TPU filament. I know that filament can be difficult to use from what I have read. Here are the settings I changed on my Bambu A1 Nozzle temp: 230C Bed: 40C Retraction: Off Print Speed: 30 mm/s Max Volumetric speed: 3.0 mm/s Someone suggested those settings as a starting point. The prints start out ok, but at some point the print head always ends up above the model and not extruding any filament. l noticed a lot of fine filaments on the prints. This was a new unopened package of”

“This is being printed in tpu 64d and the thin outer edge is curling, but only on the right side. Anybody have and tips to prevent this. I’m using almost the default profile for Bambu tpu for ams. I only adjusted the max volumetric speed and disabled retraction submitted by /u/CowardlyPanda29 [link] [comments]”

I'm printing in TPU95A and while I was able to print a benchy just fine awhile back I tried to print another print numerous times and I keep running into the same issue. Basically what happens is it will print beautifully and then randomly hit a point where basically the printer seems to contort or twist the filament and it fails to feed. Every time I've pulled”

“Hello. I have a need for a model with a 30 degree overhang and, having read from different forums and websites, it should be possible to print it in TPU without support. However, i cant even get it to work on a test print starting at 25 degrees, the lowest part of the image, without wobbling layer lines and other blemishes. Looking for info to help troubleshooting, I come across conflicting info. Some saying to speed up and reduce cooling, others to slow down and increase cooling, some goes thin”

“New to 3d printing. I am using a elegoo cc2 to try to print a tpu piece. The first few layers came out fine, but after that it started doing this and it hasn’t stopped since. I tried slowing the speeds in the slicer but that didn’t help. It started doing this weird thing where it prints the first layer real badly, then it goes on to the next layers without extruding filament. So it slowly works its way up in layers but it’s not printing anything. 225C nozzle temp 35C build plate temp. subm”

“I need some guidance on using the Siraya Tech TPU Air. I have an X1C. I have dried the material according to the manufacturer instructions listed here: User Guide After drying the filament in the oven as it directed, I placed it in my Filament dryer and linked it to my X1C with a PTFE tube. I would like to clarify that I am using the 65A Siraya Tech Validated Print setting available on their website as well. I am having a few issues. The first is bridging. It looks like trash. The walls appear t”

There seemed to be no issues or anything till now, the tubing on the top of the machine has come out of the nozzle, taking a couple pieces with it, including the small metal teeth that hold the tubing in. I’m not exactly sure how to fix this issue, or if it is even possible to be fixed. If I am able to get it fixed, I would love to also know how to prevent this issue from happening again. “This is my first time printing with TPU on my Bambu P2S, only ever having previously done so on my old Ender 3. I've fed it directly into the extruder as recommended and dried it in the AMS for 8 hours beforehand. This is the first layer, what settings do I need to adjust to prevent the gaps? submitted by /u/Armins-Copy-Of-Swank [link] [comments]”

“Technical context Bambulab x1c Bambulab A90 TPU Bambu slicer Speed may be high. Outer wall 200 Inner wall 300 Internal solid infill 250 (part is printed solid) Already tried lowering the part fan speed from 100 to 70% but the print keeps warping up from the bed. If more info is needed I will add that🙃 Thank you! Edit: I am now trying lower speeds. Used the 0.12mm high quality preset with all relevant speeds lowered to 80 if they were higher than 80. Will post findings. submitted by”

“Hello all! Have been attempting to bend the demon that is TPU to my will to help a friend with a project. Lines keep on coming out spotty/not printing well. Specs: Bambulab P1S, TPU 85A at 240 degrees, 20mm per second, z hop turned off, z length 1.6mm, retract when changing layer, bed is 30 degrees, filament is dried. The filament is being fed from above with the top plate removed and a mini ptfe tube being used to help feed. Bambulab is slicer. Photos are below for values 0.2k to 1k, increment”

“Printer: BambuLab P2S Model: Orca Stringhell Filament: Overture PLA Matte White (base profile: Bambu PLA Matte) (dried and printed from drybox) Followed the Filament Calibration Masterclass guide. I had to redo the retraction calibration to find the goldilocks 0.3mm retraction distance. 0.2 gave some stringing, 0.4 gave a lot for some reason. I think enabling Z-Hop helped too which isn't on in the base profile. Happy to answer any questions about the process. submitted by /u/subd”

“Hello, I've had a problem with TPU printing from the very beginning, it would get stuck in the nozzle for god knows what reason, and moisture definitely is not the problem, I just unboxed it, and put it straight in the dryer for printing. I disassembled the extruder, and tried adjusting the gears, but I've actually found no issue even without changing anything, but it did feed with less force when more loose. I tested and neither TPU or harder filaments like PLA slip if hold the gear and”

“Hi, Im trying to print a gyroid shape created using its mathematical definition in Grasshopper, Rhino 3D. The model itself doesnt have any imperfections or issues. But when printing it using Bambu Lab A1 printer with sunlu high speed Tpu at 210deg nozzle temperature and 45deg build plate temperature, retraction length 0.8mm and max volumetric speed as 10mm3/s. I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out why it looks like the prints failed at some areas. Thanks submitted by /u/”

“Hello I am very far from being an expert in 3d printing and learning step by step. I have a couple of PLA prints under my belt and would like to 3d print this object with TPU 85A: https://imgur.com/a/Zk7KXKn I tried it and as you can see on the 2 next pictures, it totally failed. This is the result: https://imgur.com/a/IpY2GAa The object: It is a bellow which is 2.5cm high, has a max diameter of 2.5cm and wall thickness of 3mm. The print options/characteristics: I have a bambulab P1S printer I p”

“Using Bambu P1S, 0.6mm Nozzle (using PCTG and bigger nozzle since this part will need to be very strong). I normally do a soap + hot water wash every 10ish prints, wipe with alcohol after every print; but I've even been washing it between every failed print. Filament should be VERY dry. In the past 3 days I've done about 3 cycles of 10h at 158F. (Plus my AMS is normally reading 10-15% humidity) I've tried Textured PEI and Cool Plates. I've tried bed temps from 65C all the way up”

“So im new at printing tpu and like usual, i load up my filament the correct way, 45 deg angle, right profile/temps and it extrudes very well, but it isnt the same for tpu. When i load it up it either gets: tangled or loads up but doesnt extrude. The temp on the filament says 200c-230c and i've dried it multiple times and still doesnt work. It did work the first time i inserted it but thats it. So how do i load up tpu the proper way and not just get it stuck in the gears? submitted by &”

“Printing in ABS on Bambu H2D with AMS full of the same filament. I need to print 20+ of these and I’m worried it will keep happening. Did I try to squeeze too many of these in at once? Or is there a Print setting I’m missing? I know the file is good. A bunch of them were printed from a Farm for the initial project. Expanding and want to be able to reliably print these.
