“I'm trying to figure out what to get for maintenance wash. I can get Carpro Reset or Gyeon Bathe. On the other hand there's Meguiars Hyper Wash or KC Auto Shampoo. These are so much more economical. My car is uncoated but i use gyeon wet coat once in 8 weeks and carpro ech2o as drying aid every week. Is maintenance wash shampoo not really of much consequence? [re: If you could put together the ultimate chemical list, for your own car(s).]”

“Harbor Freight carries the Meguiers Professional line. Not bad prices and the products are quality when used correctly. [re: Where can I find decent exterior car washing products that can be purchased locally? (Walmart, auto parts store, etc)]”

“I've spent endless hours going through posts here and elsewhere to reach at this conclusion. Best car shampoo - CARPRO RESET. Others - Koch Chemie GSF, Gyeon Bathe VFM options - Adam's Shampoo, Meguiars Hyper Wash, TW pure wash. Best drying aid - CARPRO ELIXIR/ECH2O (Elixir is $$$ so easier choice is ech2o) I'm unable to list other options because I've been using ech2o for 1 year now and it is so amazing, fabulous, wonderful etc., i have not thought about replacing it. Best seala”

“I'm not sure if you've heard the story, but Carpro only made Reset as a soap when they realized how much market demand was for a ph neutral soap. I believe Iron X soap was their first if I remember right. They made a video about it and it's on YouTube.”

Then I use Gyeon Bathe+ in a bucket as a second contact wash / protection step. My issue is that the Bathe+ suds die off very quickly and I get almost no “cleaning feel” from it. I know foam itself doesn’t equal cleaning power, but compared with a regular shampoo the wash feels very flat, with very little feedback or lubrication. S”

“Looking for a great and affordable wash soap to clean Semi trucks, I was looking at Bling Absolute since it’s one step but Its very pricey and would like to start with something cheaper and effective, any ideas? submitted by /u/istrober82 [link] [comments]”

“What do you mean by Reset wash? Carpro Reset? It may be worth trying Descale or another acidic shampoo.”

I do like the foaming on both soaps

“I have the Griot's, CG, and Meguiar's. Been using the Meg the most for the last 3 years. I'll use the Griot's if the car is really dirty. Haven't even open the CG yet. Waiting for the Meg to run out.”

“Gold Class has extra crap in it that can leave a film. Upgrade to something like Gyeon Bathe, Carpro Reset, ADS Shampoo+, etc. There a ton out there that will clean better, slicker, and rinse clean.”

“What do you all think about this soap used as contact wash (obviously) in a foam cannon. I’m asking in terms of actual quality for my paint. submitted by /u/GetThatPeppaOffTher [link] [comments]”

I've used this soap and it smells amazing. You can adjust the PH level.

“you need a iron remover, that soap is the best ever, 6 years in business doing high end cars and this soap is a must”

“I am not a professional by any means, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Meguiar’s Gold Class cleans my ceramic coated car better than anything else I have tried. I have tried Adam’s Shampoo and the highly recommended CarPro Reset. Both were fine but always left dirt and imperfections. Using Meguiar’s Gold Class, my car looks stunning after washing it. Maybe it isn’t the best for a coated car, but oh well.”

“weekly? you probably only need a soap/shampoo, and if washing weekly I'd consider an affordable shampoo (someone posted gold class for $9 a gallon as example) but if you're in it for the experience then yeah, your choice.”

“I have gone through a bottle of the Yum Detailer and would buy again. I'm almost through my bottle of Reset and I got some Labocosmetica Purifica. I'd judge Reset as "fine" - nothing super but certainly nothing bad. Prior to Reset, I was using Detail Co.'s acid shampoo and I'd based on the slickness, I'd give a slight edge to the Yum.”

“Gold Class contains gloss enhancers but by itself doesn't clog up ceramics. As to why it got recommended, its available from virtually anyplace in the US but there are better soaps out there from a retail store, Meguiars Hyperwash you can get from Harbor Freight for example.”

“Honestly, both are probably safe. Dawn will strip waxes from your paint, but I have yet to see any concrete evidence that it causes any problems to automotive finishes themselves. I use Dawn happily as a strip wash and clay lube when doing deeper exterior work. For maintenance washes, I use and like Meguiar’s Gold Class. It is affordable, effective, and won’t strip an existing coating.”

“My installer applied Gtechniq ceramic coating, whatever is only sold to certified installers. They recommended either washing with Gtechniq GWash or Gold Class. I've been doing some reading here where people say Gold Class contains other stuff that will clog the pores of the ceramic coating. So now I have some Carpro Reset on order to try that. I've also used the Gtechniq C2 as a topper every 3 months. I guess I should use Reset and redo the C2 on my next wash if Gold Class is truly an i”

“If you have a Harbor Freight nearby, Meguiar’s HyperWash is about $30 for a gallon there. If you want to spend more on a higher end one, CarPro Reset is my favorite personally.”

“I’ve been using it, and several Meguiar’s products since forever, and always had good luck with them. There are. Ugh more expensive cleaners for specific issues, but Gold Class is my first go to for general cleaning.”

“Normally before I had been using Dawn because it was what I had, but I did some research and found it wasn't good for paint. For some context, before this point the cars mostly have been going through automatic washes, Dawn was only used a couple times in the past before this point, so no damage has been done to the paint. Now I want to wash the cars at home by myself, so I picked up some soap called Seventh Generation - way less chemicals than the former. However it's labeled as "d”
