“Loving the new highlight update that allows you to select the color? I want purple to be the default because it's in line with the rest of the obsidian branding, but can't find the option to do so. Does that option even exist? Thanks in advance.”
“Hello obsidianers, I'm looking for a theme that should have: - Dark mode primarily, preferably black o dark gray. I'm not really into purplish or brownish themes - Colorful, specially for headings, bold, italics, highlight (I don't know why do many themes highlighting is so…”
“I have tried many themes but always end up back in the Vanilla.Amoled theme in dark mode the black is just so fricken black.”
Many Obsidian users find the default theme appealing, valuing its clean look and allowing them to incorporate personal snippets. While other themes offer customization options, users return to the simplicity of the default.

Flexoki, it's like default theme but closer to ink on paper.

“I dunno I’m using my mobile settings because I have different settings between my mobile and Mac, I mean the creators GitHub marketplace which have some preset themes but I guess I could customize it as well.”
“Late to come, may you share your Nordic palette? I honestly enjoyed the nord theme colors but it felt that the theme wasn’t maintained for quite some time. Baseline marketplace I could not open now, I have no idea why.”
“Evergreen is too blue especially in dark mode. submitted by /u/carnalcarrot [link] [comments]”
“The one i have been using recently is Primary in light mode , with a cream CSS but usually i have been using the minimal theme and customizing it with its plugins.”
“Totally agree, the nostalgia factor is strong with this one! It's cool to see such creative themes that pay homage to classic software.”
“Seconding this. Baseline has been my favorite after I stumbled upon it! It's just so clean and customizable.”
“Hello obsidianers, I'm looking for a theme that should have: - Dark mode primarily, preferably black o dark gray. I'm not really into purplish or brownish themes - Colorful, specially for headings, bold, italics, highlight (I don't know why do many themes highlighting is so subtle), and bullets - Custom checkboxes (you know an arrow for [>] a star for [*] and so on) - If possibly, custom callouts I tried Baseline for customization, but I don't like how it works in Windows... I”
“I use a personal theme. You can see it the first screenshot here . Using your own theme really lets you do whatever you want lol. 😅”
“Baseline is a solid choice! The Style Settings Plugin really lets you customize it to fit your vibe.”
“Minimal with Nord (or Nordic don’t recall name). A few snippets for tags, math, and callouts. Callout manager helps a lot too. I use colors that look legible in dark and light mode.”
“Using the Underwater theme, colour-themed with Catppuccin Mocha/Latte (which comes with Underwater). The font is JetBrains Mono. And a few minor UI tweaks. Screenshot here : https://imgur.com/a/ps8E8rt”
“I’m using the Primary Simplified theme. It’s an updated version of Primary that’s compatible with the latest versions of Obsidian and supports helper classes from the Minimal theme.”
“Try Primary Simplified! It’s Primary updated to the latest versions of Obsidian, with support for helper classes from the Minimal theme.”
“I like the Wikidian theme a lot. Helps me create a very clean look and an attractive simple dashboard thanks to the side columns.”
“Ich nutze Primary Simplyfied, ebenfalls ein interessanter Fork. Wie es im Vergleich zu dem anderen hier genannten Fork abschneidet, kann ich nicht beurteilen.”
“That trade-off makes a lot of sense. A theme is easier day to day, but your setup depends on someone else keeping it compatible with every Obsidian update. With your own CSS, you take on the maintenance yourself, but at least you know exactly what you're relying on. I can see why that feels more predictable in the long run.”
“Maple or Cupertino. I am a new user and mostly spend my time on mobile/android, so I appreciate themes that has the preview/edit icon at the bottom lol. Also both are minimal and customizable.”
“Shimmering Focus. It makes headers look a bit blocky, which I find neat. I only override their text selection css because I find it hard to notice that text is selected, but everything else feels great Its a blueish theme, not too dark so it is quite pleasant. And pleasant is important for productivity so I highly recommend it.”
“i have used so many different themes over the years. I love primary and everforest… but honestly, I’ve been on the regular obsidian theme for a few months now and I’m very happy with it. I also use a lot of css snippets and using default means i don’t get any weird conflicts.”
“I love Primary. The only time I ever turn on light mode for a theme. It reminds me a lot of the UI for Animal Crossing and just feels cozy.”
“Yes the top settings window frame. Ngl I didn't know this single thing would have put me off an otherwise a very well made theme. But the white is hella contrasting, for someome like me who juggles through settings a lot. And I like to customize my themes, and I have searched every style setting and there is no way to change that white strip. (I am not talking about baseline features, I have already worked through that and I liked it, but for someone who uses dark theme to lessen the strain”
"minimal theme" by kepano (the obsidian founder) is really nice.
“Can anyone recommend a theme with a similar folder styling? Strong outline, soft backfill. I find this theme to busy, but the folders look great. Does anyone know of one they can recommend? https://preview.redd.it/4so51a404jih1.png?width=3837&format=png&auto=webp&s=c0be16c851349fcdf1c5add09eaf3028c283b33b submitted by /u/nickelback-was-good [link] [comments]”
“Theme definitely makes a different. There's quite a few themes that are absolute crap on mobile. Lately I've been using Velocity, Baseline, and Flexoki on mobile. Minimal is also a good theme for mobile. I used to use the Things theme, but haven't in awhile.”
“Baseline.Best looking and most refined I’ve seen thus far. Though minor bugs, some CCS tweaks can solve them all”
